I'm not complaining, but I am surprised by how this is going. I expected a bit more of a fight from Munar.
That was the first long rally.

Casper's serve seems to be holding up.

Bagel- excellent work , Casper.

Casper (should he win) will play ADF next. They both really need match wins, so it's an annoying early meeting in the tournament.

And now he's thrown out 2 double faults in the first game of the second set.

After a wobbly start, I think Casper has this match sewn up.

(But I have said things like that before ).

Great perforance- I was expecting it to be tougher.
Changing the kit was the right move .

Oh dear- something is wrong with Iga.

And Atmane collapsed in what looked like a lot of pain.
But he might still win the match.

Iga has retired, so her relatively poor year continues.I hope she will be Ok for RG at least (maybe not Rome).

I’m just scorewatching (away for the weekend with DD) - what happened with Iga? Hope she’s ok.

Katie and Venus won their doubles. Odd pairing but glad it seems to be working so far!

I'm not sure if she was ill rather than injured. Seemed to be struggling, make it to the tiebreak, lost the frst set, won the second easily, then just sat down when she was 0-2 down in the third(not an official break). She was in tears when she left the court. . I hpoe she's just a bit under the weather and it's not a long term injury- this is a bit part of the year for her .

Jasmine lost the first set to Hailey Baptiste.

I think Jasmine has lost this now. It hasn't been a great year so far.

Fingers crossed Iga recovers soon. Hopefully Jasmine has some better results soon too!

Hailey Baptiste has played very well- loads of aces.

Yes, I'm hoping it's all the fault of the pesky altitude, and Iga will be better, and Jasmine will come back fighting in Rome.

The Merida/ Moutet match is a raucous one too. Daniel being another young Spaniard on the up. The crowds are very much pn his side in this one .
