Yeah, three or four MAFSAU threads ago I said that Brook turned evil because she saw no future with her "husband" and figured she'd only get camera time if she started kicking off. I think Juliette has gone the same way - no future with Joel and she's after camera time.

Joel is, admittedly, a knob and I think he was in this experiment to further his career (whatever that might be), and I hated how he kept talking over Juliette in that final scene in the kitchen, but I really don't think he deserved that from her. Harmless knob with a quick mind and a quick tongue.

Nice to see some camera time for the Chocolate Rapper (his name from thread 1 of this series). He's been pretty low profile on this.

Only couple worth watching for me, truthfully, is Filip and Stella. I hope they are real - she is a real beauty and he seems kind.

Watching on catch up so still have half an hour to go but it's not keeping me interested tonight...
DD is home for a week or so, so we're catching up and I'm telling her edited 'highlights' from MAFS while I half watch it!

Joel is a narcissist. Juliette is correct, she's getting a performance. Joel doesn't think that's true because he's so used to it he doesn't know who he really is. Poor woman. Joel is playing a game with her.

Its not difficult to take it the way she took it given all the performing. I took it the same way.

I don’t think he’s a narcissist at all.

I think he’s OTT, lacks some self awareness and thinks people find his quirky personality funny (probably because his weirdo mother told him that). He is performative and somewhat childish at times and I think he’s someone that desperately wants to be liked.

But I don’t think he’s inherently nasty or abusive.

If anything, Juliette is giving off more narcissistic vibes than he is. And she’s done far more ‘performing’ the last two episodes. And I suspect she’ll get far far worse if she stays.

I read him differently. I saw his little smirks when she was upset, he's saying the right things for the camera, him being nice to her is for the camera. She will seem like a lunatic and he knows it and plays into it. Its subtle and it drives her crazy.

He is not one bit able to reflect that he's just a human and not greater than any of them there.

Joel is a clown but his heart is in the right place but Juliette, for someone who before she got married said she likes quirky and outgoing people and she’s obviously got on the show because she played the part as being outgoing and quirky but clearly
isnt. She’s just being nasty now.

She probably meant Rachael quirky, not Joel quirky. He is extreme even for a quirky person and she is right: its a wall, a mask, a performance.

The way her entire demeanour and behaviour changed towards him over some daft video, tells me otherwise. Getting the ick is one thing, but she went full sulking and nasty mode.

There’s so much we don’t see. Juliette is obviously very icked out by Joel, I wonder what else has gone on. Clearly that particular relationship is going nowhere.

He is a twerp no doubt about it but in that moment when he was clearly saying he wants someone to see him for the good person ( I’m not saying he is good or bad) so when he called himself a star, I really struggle to understand how anyone could then equate that to him saying I AM A STAR, IT IS ALL ME, ME,ME AND ALL YOU PEASANTS SHOULD BOW DOWN BEFORE MY GODLINESS like how Juliet has spun it.

Juliet is just straight up rude, immature, nasty and arrogant. Joel is immature but I’ve not seen him being particularly nasty or disrespectful towards her.. it doesn’t matter how annoying someone is there is no need to drag them down in the way she has talk to them like shit. Simple!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again Juliette changed when she realised her friends and the public think he’s a twat. TBH after seeing his mother at the wedding she’s as bonkers as he is the apple don’t fall far from the tree
