Pilgrimage - new series

OP posts:

I definitely wanted to be in a gossip group with Hermione, Jayne and Patsy! I suspect Hermione is now in regular WhatsApp contact with Patsy, checking in.

I also struggled with Ashley B and thought he was rude with the synagogue ladies - definitely "my version is better than yours", and taking over the explanations even though it was their synagogue and their tradition (that he was being rude about).

Ashley B was so rude and patronising. Butting in to mansplain points of Judaism as if the two people who run the place wouldn’t know them. At one point he asked one of the women if she’d heard of a particular term/concept (can’t remember what). Of course she’s effing heard of it!
Other than that I liked them all. Tasha was clearly very moved by the whole thing. She said a couple of times that she’d been leading a closed, isolated life , or words to that effect. I don’t know why?
Patsy was very funny and dry. I loved her exchange with Hermione about men with no pants on chopping each other up 😄
Hassan was a sweetheart and very funny.
Jayne was a real trooper. Very knowledgeable about the area and the saints too. She impressed me.
I started out thinking ‘why is this one only three eps when the others are more?’ and was amazed to realise they they’ve all been three. In my memory the other seasons have about six eps 🤨
I hope there’s more. I do enjoy this series. How many more pilgrimage routes are there, I wonder?

I always enjoy this series, and this one has been ok, but not a patch on the first ones for me anyway. Felt a bit scripted and forced at times, and the actual route isn’t quite as interesting. You do learn a lot though.

I have loved this route as it included many special places for me and the weather at the coast was just perfect, showing everything in such a good light (literally). And the swimming at the end was marvellous. I have actually swum in that water but I want to do it again! And it's been on my bucket list for a while to walk the causeway (possibly barefoot).

The North East is such a friendly place and I was pleased to see it come across so well on camera. I thought the ladies at the Synagogue were so lovely and welcoming (and handled the mansplaining very well). Hassan is a sweetie and Hermione Norris's pieces to camera were so good. I want to see her present things now. The group probably didn't get as in depth about faith and life as some other pilgrim groups - possibly would have been difficult for Ashley, who clearly struggled at points.
