I am excited for this, the 2026 World Cup-themed "sequel" to Twenty Twelve (Olympics) and W1A (general BBC). I recently rewatched both previous series and I am hoping for more of the same toe-curling mockumentary. Shame it is only 6 episodes though!

10pm, BBC Two - 8 April.

i often morph into sarah parrish's character and say "no. i don't want that"

three cheers for 2026. i can't wait. thank you for the nudge as i'd totally forgotten.

Wishimaywishimight · 29/03/2026 13:27

"So that's all good then" 😂

Love love love Ian Fletcher 😍

And Will is back!!

Notonthestairs · 29/03/2026 14:30

I loved Twenty Twelve and W1A - looking forward to this.

Miranda65 · 29/03/2026 14:30

Can't wait for this! And, if you think about it, Ian Fletcher isn't as hapless as people make out..... after all, he saved both the Olympics and the BBC!
Also looking forward to the fabulous narration from David Tennant, and the return of Will (" yeah, no, cool...say again?").

Booooooooom · 29/03/2026 14:31

Me too, can’t wait!

cramptramp · 29/03/2026 14:40

Hoorah! I can’t wait.

MamaBobo · 29/03/2026 15:04

Can’t wait…just wish that Tracey Pritchard/Monica Dolan could have followed Ian across the pond as well. “It’s carnage in the press office Ian and not in a good way”.

And yes…love, love, love and lust after Ian Fletcher!

CocoLomax · 29/03/2026 15:10

I’m a fan (my MN username is a nod!).

Can’t see Jessica Hynes listed anywhere which is a shame as Siobhán Sharpe is my most quoted character from 2012/WIA.

Let’s not bore the oceans here, guys.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/03/2026 15:11

Hurrah! Will trying to fill the envelopes with invitations is one of the funniest things I've seen in recent years.

Citygirl17 · 29/03/2026 17:33

There was a scene in 2012 where an architect is trying to explain something to Ian. It was so funny I kept on laughing and couldn't fall asleep that night. I wish I could find a clip of it.

tinyspiny · 29/03/2026 17:42

2012 and W1A are favourites in this house , I hope this is as good but I can’t see it somehow as to me it’s the other characters around ‘Ian fletcher’ in both of those that are the best bits . My particular favourites being Graham Hitchens in 2012 and Tracey Pritchard in W1A , I also really like the head of news .

Citygirl17 · 29/03/2026 17:57

I had occasion to paraphrase Tracey last week. EE was in for full fibre installation. Texted friend, "EE tech has been on the bedroom floor for two hours, but not in a good way."

😂

Davros · 29/03/2026 18:14

Excellent, can’t wait to see this. Will Olivia Colman be in it?

CrossPurposes · 29/03/2026 18:29

Can I just say that both series are on iPlayer.

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 29/03/2026 18:56

Has anyone seen the original series that 2012 was based on? It was for the Sydney Olympics, called The Games.

Very good very strong. I’d love to see a W1A for Comic Relief or Children in Need where they pitch the next Strictly hosts. I’d probably watch a whole half hour of that to be honest!

Perpetuallywondering · 02/04/2026 23:55

Yes, very good. Very strong.

tinyspiny · 08/04/2026 12:40

Well we’ve just tried the first episode and it really isn’t working for me at all .

Rostio · 08/04/2026 12:45

Thank you for letting us know it’s out. Was it on last night I wonder.

BreakfastOfWaffles · 08/04/2026 12:50

Checking in! I will be watching.

It’s on IPlayer, episode 1 on TV tonight.

Rostio · 08/04/2026 21:08

I couldn't finish the first episode either :( I enjoyed the re-cap but once we got to America it just didn't keep my attention.
