Some reviews argue it sensationalised, The Times argued it gave a serious depiction of grooming.

I'd like to give it a go. Anyone else watched or planning to watch?

We’re besieged by sex on TV — but there’s a point to the shocking Huw Edwards drama

It was hard to watch this show about the disgraced newsreader but it gave me a proper understanding of what he did. That is true public service

I'm not interested in wathcing it, no. I find it really distasteful.

The trend of rushing to make docudrama of every celebrity sex offender does nothing but 'cheapen' the seriousness of the crimes. It almost fetishises the need story.

I haven't read the reviews but sensationalist? Yes, and voyeuristic.

I’ve watched it. The producers worked with the victim and his family to allow him to tell his story. I don’t think that cheapens anything. It showed how disgusting and predatory Edward’s is and how vulnerable his young victim was.

Yes, I agree : thanks for the info. I do think the victim's family being involved makes a difference. I've seen it referenced already several times on Mumsnet as showing well the effects of grooming, so hopefully it may do some good in that way : maybe the family wanted to raise awareness of what happened?
