Not much has changed since the start of the last thread - only been about 4 weeks since the last one was started.. So...... Following on from the last thread...

Carl hasn't been in it much this past few weeks, but still, no-one seems to be able to take him down. He's done so many bad things!

Mal is still dreadful.... and has just been beaten up by Kit (and tried to blame Dev,) but I think his game is up now Daniel heard him laying into Bernie (who he's been stalking!) Hopefully the stalking story is over, and Mal can leave!

Ma Driscoll was horrendous - but she is less horrendous I think. (Growing on me a bit.) Grin Kit is still fit. Ronnie and Kevin's new double act hasn't advanced much 😆 (I was enjoying their bad cop/bad cop routine too.) Jim McDonald died recently, and it emerges that Ma Driscoll had a bit of a thing with him many years ago, when she had her son Ben! 👀

Debbie is still in prison. Not seeing much of her at the moment. Hopefully we see more of her soon!

Hope is still cheeky as ever. Grin

Big story at the moment is Todd and Theo have just got married. They split up for a few weeks after Todd had just had enough of him, but Theo concocted a plan to make Todd miss a race he had been training for, and got back into Todd's head (and bed!) Then Theo railroaded Todd into a 'surprise' wedding, as he hadn't cancelled the booking at the Registry Office. Theo is really cruel and abusive to Todd, and poor Todd is just so beaten down by it all. Hopefully this storyline comes to a close too, because it's horrible watching Todd suffer, and also frustrating!

We also have Shona's sister Jodie popping up every 5 minutes, just working in the cafe, and offering her babysitting, and giving long lingering looks to David. And Tyrone who had been hit by a car that Carl was driving seems to be walking all of a sudden after spending the last few months in a wheelchair. Oh, and a baby has been dropped off at Carla and Lisa's home by a woman claiming it's the baby of the prison guard Carla's brother Rob was sleeping with. They just took her and are looking after her now - obviously. 😆

Mucky pervy Megan Trainer has been arrested for having a 'relationship' with one of her pupils, (Will Driscoll,) but Will is denying anything happened, so will they be able to do anything? Toyah, Eva, and Leanne have joined forces to try and bring her down. Especially as she has been blackmailing and bullying young Sam - Nick's son - as he can see her for what she is!

Phew.......

Sorry if I have left anything out!!!!!!! 😬

Im hoping the body Betsy finds from the flash forward is someone else BUT Theo gets killed and George and Gary quietly cremate him 🤣

Mollypolly2610 · 29/03/2026 22:12

But Gary didn't say anything about a job in Belfast so its a lie to get Todd away from everyone who can help him.
Or did I miss something.

There's no job in Belfast. Its made up on the spur of the moment by Theo to isolate Todd from his support network.

FrankieMcGrath · 29/03/2026 23:41

Just watched tonight’s - excellent episode. George was particularly fantastic.

zanahoria · 30/03/2026 00:14

Todd needs to get out but Dev does too.

Bernie just takes the piss out of him

Shellingbynight · 30/03/2026 08:04

Yes there's no job in Belfast.

I agree Dev needs to get out too, Bernie lies to him on a weekly basis.

eggandonion · 30/03/2026 08:35

Belfast is a good shout for vanishing though. Off you pop Theo. Moving a mile down the road means people will never be seen again.
I don't need Mal. Hes a distraction. I want to know Jodies backstreet and for Megan to get her comeuppance.

Then normality.

Myrealnameisbetty · 30/03/2026 08:51

Gary Windass finally getting a look in storywise after a very long time of just fleeting scenes with little depth and I hope he saves Todd.

Theo is despicable and the actor is doing a great job like so many soap villains before him.

NCTDN · 30/03/2026 09:58

All this stuff with Will - I don’t really understand how everyone believes Sam when there isn’t actually any evidence? Or have I missed something?

Shellingbynight · 30/03/2026 10:08

I agree there is no evidence yet in terms of bringing a prosecution. But she is pregnant and refusing to have a DNA test. No teacher would shoot her career in the foot by refusing to have the test if she knew the test would prove her innocent. So everyone who knows her is judging her on that basis.

Not just getting a look but getting to do his hard man look!

I really wish they had not brought the pregnancy into this storyline, the "who's the daddy" cliche just distracts from the seriousness of the abuse plot.

I would also prefer it if they just did one abuse plot at them time, there is a bit of an overload at the moment

Shellingbynight · 30/03/2026 10:31

@zanahoria They do absolutely overload the plots with unnecessary drama. And a lot of it is forgotten within weeks, and never made sense in the first place. There are far too many abusers/criminals on the scene - Megan, Mal, Theo, Carl, Ma Driscoll.

I hope this storyline with Bernie is going to be the trigger for Dev to sack her off, they have never been right together and it makes no sense he would continue to put up with her.

HesterLee · 30/03/2026 10:56

When Gary was being magnificently menacing, he said to Theo remember how I dealt with... someone. Can anyone remember who it was that Theo knew that Gary dealt with? I've completely forgotten!

bizzey · 30/03/2026 11:05

It was Noah (I think that was his name ) the person who knew Theo from old and did some evangelical stuff about curing gays and stuff.

He then got together with Danielle Theo's ex wife.
He died , but we were led to believe it was a heart attack ..? and not an assault ??

NorfolkandBad · 30/03/2026 11:32

I don't understand the way the writers are portraying The Bolt, she could have just said to Mal - what are you talking about ? (when he blackmailed her), not gone to the hotel (or told Dev she was playing him to catch out his lie) and even after she went through with this, she could have said "What are you on about?" when Mal came to the house and said she knew Kit had assaulted him, she's supposed to be a street wise Hacienda kid, and yet can't lie when her future depends on it ?

My DP says I could have played that part to perfection, joking of course.

I think.

zanahoria · 30/03/2026 11:38

Gary duffed up Noah last year as he was irked by his homophobia and general bullying.

He used to be just a petty thug but now he fights for righteous causes

He really puts the warrior into Social Justice Warrior

luckylavender · 30/03/2026 11:40

It's easy for everyone to say that Todd should own up but in coercive cases like these he won't really have acknowledged it himself yet.

Triskellion75 · 30/03/2026 12:04

Gary killed Rick Neelan, and he was responsible for Rana's death.

Who was Rana?

Triskellion75 · 30/03/2026 13:06

Alya's sister in law, remember she realised she was gay and ended up with Kate?

Shellingbynight · 30/03/2026 13:11

@luckylavender I agree with you but I think the problem is the storyline has been badly done and we're all just fed up with it. It was a good idea in principle and Gareth Pierce has been great, but it hasn't really worked.

@NorfolkandBad a lot of the Mal and Bernie storyline doesn't make sense! One minute Bernie is lying her head off and concealing important info, the next she's blurting it all out. They seem to be generating nonsensical drama for the sake of it.

I completely disagree. I think it's been very well done. The acting is tremendous. It's one of the best Corrie stories for ages.

Shellingbynight · 30/03/2026 13:42

@luckylavender we'll agree to disagree then. Along with quite a few others on the thread, I'm not enjoying it.

HaddyAbrams · 30/03/2026 13:45

I think the Todd and Theo story is being done well too. Very believable based on my experience.
