Not much has changed since the start of the last thread - only been about 4 weeks since the last one was started.. So...... Following on from the last thread...

Carl hasn't been in it much this past few weeks, but still, no-one seems to be able to take him down. He's done so many bad things!

Mal is still dreadful.... and has just been beaten up by Kit (and tried to blame Dev,) but I think his game is up now Daniel heard him laying into Bernie (who he's been stalking!) Hopefully the stalking story is over, and Mal can leave!

Ma Driscoll was horrendous - but she is less horrendous I think. (Growing on me a bit.) Kit is still fit. Ronnie and Kevin's new double act hasn't advanced much 😆 (I was enjoying their bad cop/bad cop routine too.) Jim McDonald died recently, and it emerges that Ma Driscoll had a bit of a thing with him many years ago, when she had her son Ben! 👀

Debbie is still in prison. Not seeing much of her at the moment. Hopefully we see more of her soon!

Hope is still cheeky as ever.

Big story at the moment is Todd and Theo have just got married. They split up for a few weeks after Todd had just had enough of him, but Theo concocted a plan to make Todd miss a race he had been training for, and got back into Todd's head (and bed!) Then Theo railroaded Todd into a 'surprise' wedding, as he hadn't cancelled the booking at the Registry Office. Theo is really cruel and abusive to Todd, and poor Todd is just so beaten down by it all. Hopefully this storyline comes to a close too, because it's horrible watching Todd suffer, and also frustrating!

We also have Shona's sister Jodie popping up every 5 minutes, just working in the cafe, and offering her babysitting, and giving long lingering looks to David. And Tyrone who had been hit by a car that Carl was driving seems to be walking all of a sudden after spending the last few months in a wheelchair. Oh, and a baby has been dropped off at Carla and Lisa's home by a woman claiming it's the baby of the prison guard Carla's brother Rob was sleeping with. They just took her and are looking after her now - obviously. 😆

Mucky pervy Megan Trainer has been arrested for having a 'relationship' with one of her pupils, (Will Driscoll,) but Will is denying anything happened, so will they be able to do anything? Toyah, Eva, and Leanne have joined forces to try and bring her down. Especially as she has been blackmailing and bullying young Sam - Nick's son - as he can see her for what she is!

May have already been discussed, but when did Tyrone start walking again? Surely he’d be walking with crutches first not going straight from a wheelchair to walking independently?

We did see Tyrone going to physio and then walking with crutches just after Christmas. He was using crutches at Debbie's wedding.

I think I am going to have to watch it now ...I can't cope with tears and sadness that late in the evening. 😞
And vanity aside ...
I have usually cleaned my face for the night by the and it is a waste of eye cream !

It really unsettles me those scenes and is a bit of a trigger for me .

I will do it now while I munch on an ice cream .

lighter note Gotta say Kit is bloody fit

It was a good episode. Hard hitting. But it felt a bit like a public service announcement.

I am a bit concerned about how compliment Theo was getting in the van and going with Garry to the police station .

Hopefully, not a mark on Theo , so should sort it all out .

Such a really good episode. I’m guessing the women that were featured were survivors themselves but that’s only a guess and I liked the hints of purple which according to the DS article I read is the colour of survivors

I found tonight’s a very moving episode. Brilliant acting.

the only thing that felt off for me was Kit and Lisa doing all the interviews, especially when there would have been talk of sexual abuse. Theo's comments about them consummating their marriage all night still make me feel real sad

i do hope there is a proper conclusion to all this

The Todd and George bit got me. But somehow the interview parts were not as convincing. I suppose he had to work with the script. It was a bit squashed in to a short episode.
What I can't square, is how he was considering leaving Summer. You just wouldn't. She is so young, and suffering so much in her grief. They would have pulled together more.
And his mum. She pissed off to Thailand and didn't come back when Billy died... not to see Todd or Summer... nothing.
I remember when she worked out her husband was a serial killer, at the same time as her son Jason was away. It seemed so implausible at the time that she wan't at all worried for Jason.

I’m still disappointed in the Theo storyline. Todd and Sarah have been great, but I am glad it is (more or less) over. How come the police didn’t have a doctor check Todd over, he had to collapse in order to be taken to hospital.

And it was never explained how Todd managed to get out of the flat after the beating and go to Sarah’s.

Lisa actually managed some facial expressions in the interview, which is a first. But I hated Lisa’s homily at the end. We really didn’t need it, the storyline speaks for itself.

The worst bit for me was all his loved ones crying at the hospital.

Todd refused to go to hospital to be checked, he asked to go straight to police station to give statement.

I agree Its a bit off that Lisa and Kit did the interview but then there was another officer also dealing with a DV case at same time.

As for not knowing how Todd managed to get out of flat, I just think he’s not yet had chance to explain that, the episode was too short. Might be explained in another episode. I had assumed Theo fled the flat when he beat Todd up but appears he didn’t.

I think Lisa was trying to explain the answer to why people don't just leave. It must be really frustrating trying to get people through to the point where they feel able to go.
Thank Goodness fo Gary! The hospital waiting area populated only by Rovers regulars is a cliche!

Be interesting to see if Eileen is mentioned at all
