Not much has changed since the start of the last thread - only been about 4 weeks since the last one was started.. So...... Following on from the last thread...

Carl hasn't been in it much this past few weeks, but still, no-one seems to be able to take him down. He's done so many bad things!

Mal is still dreadful.... and has just been beaten up by Kit (and tried to blame Dev,) but I think his game is up now Daniel heard him laying into Bernie (who he's been stalking!) Hopefully the stalking story is over, and Mal can leave!

Ma Driscoll was horrendous - but she is less horrendous I think. (Growing on me a bit.) Grin Kit is still fit. Ronnie and Kevin's new double act hasn't advanced much 😆 (I was enjoying their bad cop/bad cop routine too.) Jim McDonald died recently, and it emerges that Ma Driscoll had a bit of a thing with him many years ago, when she had her son Ben! 👀

Debbie is still in prison. Not seeing much of her at the moment. Hopefully we see more of her soon!

Hope is still cheeky as ever. Grin

Big story at the moment is Todd and Theo have just got married. They split up for a few weeks after Todd had just had enough of him, but Theo concocted a plan to make Todd miss a race he had been training for, and got back into Todd's head (and bed!) Then Theo railroaded Todd into a 'surprise' wedding, as he hadn't cancelled the booking at the Registry Office. Theo is really cruel and abusive to Todd, and poor Todd is just so beaten down by it all. Hopefully this storyline comes to a close too, because it's horrible watching Todd suffer, and also frustrating!

We also have Shona's sister Jodie popping up every 5 minutes, just working in the cafe, and offering her babysitting, and giving long lingering looks to David. And Tyrone who had been hit by a car that Carl was driving seems to be walking all of a sudden after spending the last few months in a wheelchair. Oh, and a baby has been dropped off at Carla and Lisa's home by a woman claiming it's the baby of the prison guard Carla's brother Rob was sleeping with. They just took her and are looking after her now - obviously. 😆

Mucky pervy Megan Trainer has been arrested for having a 'relationship' with one of her pupils, (Will Driscoll,) but Will is denying anything happened, so will they be able to do anything? Toyah, Eva, and Leanne have joined forces to try and bring her down. Especially as she has been blackmailing and bullying young Sam - Nick's son - as he can see her for what she is!

Phew.......

Sorry if I have left anything out!!!!!!! 😬

I don't care if I ever see Eyelash again but Jason would be a wonderful hero whisking Todd off to a wellness retreat.

TipsyPeachSnake · 15/04/2026 23:51

I loved Jason’s return for Eileen’s exit. And his storyline sleeping with Theo’s wife, of all people, within day of his return was so funny

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 16/04/2026 01:46

George was looking fine tonight Christina is good for him.

JMSA · 16/04/2026 04:42

Really good stuff tonight 👍
I agree that a longer episode would have done it more credit.

FeltCarrot · 16/04/2026 07:02

It’s funny how you don’t miss some long term characters, I’ve been watching for 40 years, I don’t miss Gail, Eileen or Jenny for instance.

Couldn’t Todd have cleaned his face if all the dried blood after being photographed?

Ikwym, I don’t miss any of them either.
I miss the Deirdre, Blanche & Ken years, Mavis, the Duckworths, ( Coronation Streets heyday )

re: last night.
George looked genuinely shocked and upset at the hospital, great actor.
Can’t believe Theo is still trying to hang on to the relationship, when he said ‘I forgive you Todd’ - jeez, that freaked me out more than seeing Todd battered & bruised.
Theo really is a psycho.

thenightsky · 13/04/2026 20:46

Is this the flat that Todd shared with Sarah when they first got together?

No they lived in the flat that Summer now lives in - above Preston's Petals

Perhaps Todd will go back there

the80sweregreat · 16/04/2026 08:08

After the photos , surely they could have let him wash his face and helped him to clean up a bit.

Shellingbynight · 16/04/2026 08:33

I was thinking about what it is I don't like about this storyline. Last night was a bit of a horror show. Todd sat there an unnecessarily long time exhibiting terrible facial injuries, and then walked along a corridor with no shirt on displaying more injuries, just to rub it in. They would never treat a storyline like this if the victim was a woman.

@TipsyPeachSnake I realise Todd said he wanted to go straight to the police, but they would then have him medically examined as part of the investigation. Yet he collapsed at the point he was going home.

Speaking of which, I don't remember Swain saying 'you can't go home, you have to go to a safe place'. Irrelevant in the end as he went to hospital but it wasn't mentioned, like so many other things including how he got away.

And it STILL isn't over. Because we have to have to wait for more melodrama on the 23rd.

eggandonion · 16/04/2026 08:48

Dr Gadass should have been called in. Where is she?

There was some excellent acting, decent scenes and good lines. I found Theo shouting "I forgive you" quite chilling.

I agree about the way he was paraded around half naked, I was actually confused what they were doing with him

But it really got spoilt by the silliness of him being interviewed by two police officers who are neighbours and know him well. These Corrie police interviews are beyond a joke now and entirely inappropriate for a serious story line. Kit is his daughter's uncle, they both sounded more like friends than professionals doing their job

Just trying to exonerate himself surely

I found tonight’s a very moving episode. Brilliant acting.

I thought it was an outstanding episode. As you say, so moving. I was very teary last night watching it, the last time I remember crying watching Corrie was 25 years ago when Alma was dying!
Well Done to the writers and actors - they did a wonderful job.

luckylavender · 16/04/2026 09:50

sorryIdidntmeanto · 15/04/2026 22:02

The Todd and George bit got me. But somehow the interview parts were not as convincing. I suppose he had to work with the script. It was a bit squashed in to a short episode.
What I can't square, is how he was considering leaving Summer. You just wouldn't. She is so young, and suffering so much in her grief. They would have pulled together more.
And his mum. She pissed off to Thailand and didn't come back when Billy died... not to see Todd or Summer... nothing.
I remember when she worked out her husband was a serial killer, at the same time as her son Jason was away. It seemed so implausible at the time that she wan't at all worried for Jason.

But actors leave and then do other work. We can't have it both ways, it's not real life

I am still crying over Alma dying

That line hit home with me, the way it summed up a totally messed up abusive relationship.

Theo's previous attempts at gas lighting have worked and he ain't giving up yet.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 16/04/2026 10:17

Theo's totally trying to save his own skin with the forgiveness line, the prick.

I'm glad that there is evidence of his abuse, in Todd's injuries (although nobody should have such injuries, obviously) and in his behaviour in the cell.

I agree, they wouldn’t have used officers who knew him well, there should have been specially trained DA officers.

Re Kit - whose daughter’s uncle? I thought Kit only had Brody and Todd doesn’t have any children?

Myrealnameisbetty · 16/04/2026 10:24

Was Todd really intending to go to Belfast with Theo? Not in the last episode obviously but at all? He kept displaying signs of hope with Theo but I was never sure.
We didn't see the final attack on Todd but did Theo have any injuries when Todd tried to defend himself. The difference in their builds and strength makes me think Theo just battered a completely helpless Todd. Great acting from both. Horrific and true to life 😠

Soaps are rubbish in so many ways with their unrealistic stories and characters but they've produced some excellent villains and baddies and chosen the right actors to fit the roles.

Summers adoptive dad Billy was married to Paul, Kits brother

JewelleryCat · 16/04/2026 10:34

Todd only has his son, Billy who died when he was with Sarah. No other children @JellyBeanSpring25

I was just thinking and I’m probably way off but could the official 5 suspects be a red herring and someone else will die entirely after we saw that flash forward after the wedding?

zanahoria · 16/04/2026 10:38

It was also a bit off to use Kit as he has recently put a guy in hospital

Of course! I never thought of Kit being Summer’s uncle. It’s a tangled family tree down those cobbles 🤣

I think he was just swept along with it, too scared, or too dazed, to say no. A bit like the wedding. He didn’t want to go, but probably would have.

And no, Theo didn’t look to have a mark on him.
