I think there is likely a lot of truth to this. Having been bullied as a child, she’s had her plastic makeover and now sees being on top rated tv as an ‘in your face’ to all those bullies and people who dislike her in adulthood (in her mind it isn’t her behaviour that’s wrong so anywho doesn’t like her is also a bully). Plus if she can get the series limelight by being wanted by two guys on daily tv - life doesn’t get better.
She was actually quite nice with Rebecca last week and perceptive about her situation. And she was almost in tears from nerves about telling Scott she had a daughter. Brook brought out the worst in Gia and Gia let that happen.
I think she did tell Brook that Danny said Gia was his type but it was a lie. Gia was just setting up evidence for their attraction like she does on those to camera pieces that she can tell he really like her not Bec. As everyone thought Brook had left, Gia went back to Plan A - make up with Bec, which would allow her to speak more to Danny and set up the love triangle. When Brook came back, unhinged and threatening to drop the Danny likes Gia bomb, Gia was trying to stop her saying it.
Gia had a plan to be the series main character, get validation after her own bullying experiences and maybe use the show as a springboard to becoming a reality tv, influencer, Only Fans girl, local celebrity who can be a rich guy’s ’trophy’ wife. I think her uncle is right and she doesn’t work, her support work strapline was what she did before having her daughter and now she’s 8 she needs to find something to do but doesn’t want to go back to a 40 hr a week job.
