The irony with Ash was Suki’s reaction to her coming out and now she’s married to Eve. Who is woefully underused now she is back from being poorly in real life. I don’t blame Ash for not wanting her at the wedding.

Eve really is underused isn’t she. Reduced to just trailing around after Suki trying to help clear up the Panesar’s family dramas. I’m not sure if they’ve just got her doing light stuff as the actress has recently recovered.

Anyonecanfallinlove · 24/04/2026 11:18

I would guess Eve is still recovering, from both the mental and physical toll of cancer and the treatments etc. Her wife was also diagnosed. I think it's amazing she is back on screen in any capacity. She has time to be given a bigger storyline. To be honest I don't trust the writers to do her character justice, so she's better off where she is for now.

I also really hated the bridge suicide scene, so over the top and hideously traumatic for Avani and Nugget. I know we are supposed to understand that Ravi was put of his 'normal' mind, but given the way he dangled Barney over the bridge, he clearly doesn't mind a bit of public drama. I can see that some of the blame is now landing on Priya because she didnt ask for help and had a couple of times she could have. Cindy and Max - liked both of them for that scene. For once, it wasnt Max's fault and he's redeemed himself.

I'm mainly just relieved no one was killed in the crash though as that would have ramped things up even more.

I was amused by the police just rocking up so soon after and saying basically 'you're sectioned, mate, get in the car'. I can't really imagine that how it usually goes!

Tobe fair, he told Oakie to let Harry go and I don’t think he was aware H was tied up in the flat all that time. But he started the cuckooing and agree he has done some heinous things so it’s hard not to think karma (well at least I did).

Ravi should have done his own dirty work and ensured Harry was out. He swanned off on holiday and Harry/Kojo was missing for a long time, it was convenient for Ravi to turn a blind eye

It's from the album Dummy.
Glorybox was a track on the album.
I still love Portishead, the absolute best band to have existed.

yes, sorry, looked on my spotify and realised i have it custom named after my fave track so i can find it easily.

I completely agree. The kids would need years of counselling! But it's Eastenders so it'll be as easily forgotten as Kheerat mouldering in jail.

When Priya was in the hospital and said to Avani 'let's get some food' I thought she was going to find a doctor for Ravi. But she just let that opportunity evaporate despite her entire mission being to get him to hospital!

Goodness, I didn’t know her wife was diagnosed as well! That is real life trauma. Hope they both are/remain cancer free from
here on in.

Did anyone else think it was ominous when Dee told Sam she has to go to the Doctor as she continues to feel constantly exhausted. I’m sure she’s mentioned ongoing tiredness recently. They’ve done Cancer and Menopause so I wonder what’s coming..

Yes and it would fit with Libby's return

Today’s episode has set up what I think the New Year’s episode is all about really well

Max marrying Cindy but having an affair with Priya
Max, Lauren and Mark in the dodgy car scheme together
Lauren and Mark having an affair
Ravi disappears for months but comes back, causes whatever happens that means Jack is looking after the baby (maybe to protect Vinny when it’s found out that it’s not his baby) and is the one who kidnaps Oscar and Lauren because of the affair

I think it’s all a red herring and has nothing to do with Ravi in the flash forward

What episode today? EE isn't on on Fridays.

VivienneDelacroix · 24/04/2026 21:02

I swing between feeling that Ravi deserves the karma and feeling sad for him, but that's due to Aaron Thiara's brilliant acting. I feel he pulls everyone up around him too. Whereas Lacey Turner is a brilliant actress who out-acts everyone around her.

lazymum99 · 25/04/2026 10:39

I thought the police were not attending mental health stuff anymore.
And surely you need a mental health professional to sign off on a section. Not just two plods

the80sweregreat · 25/04/2026 11:29

You’re correct that the police have been told not to attend anyone in crisis , but maybe the fact he was about to jump off may have forced the issue ? Risk to other people or something like that ?
They were slow to attend to two cars crashing , but quick to get to the square!
I am sure it’s not so clear cut in real life to be sectioned so quickly, but no real idea. Wouldn’t Priya be done for taking and driving away and dangerous driving ?

You’d think there would have been a police investigation into the car crash given the severity of it but nope, only an ambulance turned up and Priya’s car theft has been conveniently brushed over.

I l liked today’s show. Good acting all round.

Southeastdweller · Yesterday 07:58

Average episode today. Ross Kemp is either rusty or he was never that good an acting the first place. I was also confused as to why Vicky said Grant ruined her life.

Shellingbynight · Yesterday 08:42

South I haven't watched yet but Ross was never a good actor AND he's now rusty😆 He was really poor in the 40th anniversary episode. He'll be really shown up in scenes with Phil, who is so good.

Vicky seems pretty good at ruining her own life!

the80sweregreat · Yesterday 09:05

Maybe Vicky was referring to Grant sleeping with her mum and having Mark wasn’t great , but not seen it yet.
I never bought into that relationship at all. Chelle hated Grant for ages because of sharon.

Southeastdweller · Yesterday 09:11

Love and hate are two sides of the same coin. I remember there was always friction between Michelle and Grant, so to me their one night stand was credible. Also, she was seeing someone boring at the time - her university lecturer (and about thirty years older than her!).

When I was sectioned I’d been in a psychiatric ward beforehand for a week or so, but had untreated broken ribs so was then admitted to hospital for treatment. Whilst there though I was still mentally unwell and iirc not medicated yet, it took between 1-2 weeks for the doctors to come around to my bed to decide to section me. So yes for Ravi the timeline is wrong. I’m not saying it can’t happen quicker though as I’m not a medical professional.

cramptramp · Yesterday 10:12

I’m sure Grant was standing on something when he was in shot next to Mark. Grant is only about 5ft 6 (according to my mate who has met him) and Mark is v tall (according to me who hasn’t met him).

the80sweregreat · Yesterday 14:51

How did Grant upset Vicki ? Must be previous history , but he isnt her dad !

Anyonecanfallinlove · Yesterday 15:15

It's not very difficult to upset Vicky, she seems to be upset by everyone, she holds a grudge. Unless it's Ross, he can pretty much do as he likes, and she will stay with him
