The new season will see Simm joined once again by fellow cast members Richie Campbell (Glenn Branson), Zoë Tapper (Cleo Moray), Laura Elphinstone (Bella Moy), Brad Morrison (Nick Nicholl) and Juliette Motamed (Vee Wilde).

Meanwhile, guest stars this time around will include Grantchester's Rishi Nair, Showtrial's Ali Khan, Ackley Bridge's Gurjeet Singh, Blue Lights star Hannah McClean, DI Ray's Tamla Kari and The Killing Kind's Sara Powell.

The last season of the show came to a dramatic end, with Grace's boss and nemesis Assistant Chief Constable Cassian Pewe, played by Sam Hoare, being revealed as a corrupt cop (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/grace-season-5-episode-3-twist-newsupdate/), who had been having an affair with Grace's dead wife, Sandy.

After revealing a host of new details about Sandy's disappearance and her gambling debts, which left her at the mercy of the Benchdale OCG.

I’ve read all of the Grace books. They are an excellent read. Unfortunately I can’t get onboard with the TV show. From the outset, the casting of Grace is all wrong. He’s nothing like my Grace.

Sorry guys, it was my fault. Whilst she was walking down the aisle, I was like “oh a drama where they actually get their happy ending, what a novel way to end a series…”

I was really hoping we could just have a nice happy wedding scene. It has been a bit clunky the whole series how they tack the Sandy story onto the end of that week's story. It's like an appendix.

Did it follow the books?

the acting in the plane was hilarious.
I do hate all the "sandy" stuff. who cares.

The Vee and her dad sub plot is the worst piece of TV I have seen for a long time. What on earth was the point of it? It was dragged out so long, I had almost forgotten the plot. The finale with Vee was preposterous - though tbf the hit man plot was beyond preposterous too, and the airplane scenes were crazy and then don't get me started on the wedding.....

I cant believe there will be another series.

I watched this one more out of loyalty(?) even though I have gone from thinking the series is just bad to thinking it is just awful.

The acting is bad, the dialogue is bad, and the plots so nonsensical and of course having survived 2 hours of this silliness the final scene where we are dragged back into a plot I have totally forgotten how it ever fitted in.

Just wont bother next time.

And why the poor Queen was made to traipse round the set I just dont know.

They are quite something. We have decided he has another job as the assistant manager of a Premier Inn, but has heard a rumour that his boss might be leaving and is hoping for a promotion.

This series has been quite spectacularly awful, dull, dull dull. I'm surprised that the cast agreed to be in something so poor.

It was SO disappointing. I was really looking forward to it too
