Just finished it. Anyone else feel ill at ease with the adoption storyline?

Just saw this morning that the actress who plays Mel is pregnant.

All bets on for Mel the character being pregnant after their honeymoon and she finds out just when the baby they’ve fastracked-adopted comes home to the house that Jack built by hand himself. Let’s hope the pregnancy doesn’t last another two seasons…

You could be right. That would explain the rather tortuous Honeymoon storyline.

And this being VR, nothing can go smoothly...

Brady and Brie are hot, Mel and Jack are not.
If Brady has died coming off his motorbike I won't be watching any more, I was only watching to see him and Brie get together 😆
Mels lips were another nail in the coffin for me.

Agree, I'll be so pissed off if Brady dies. He is hot 🔥🔥🔥 But I had a feeling as soon as he said to Brie he'd come round to cook dinner that something bad was gonna happen.

Finally caught up with the latest series and it's awful, so cringey. I've watched it from the beginning but this is worse than ever. Really don't know why I keep watching it.

LizandDerekGoals · 15/04/2026 23:32

Ive just finished it this evening. I bet the baby will be called Brady.

CurbsideProphet · 21/05/2026 20:53

I've just finished the last episode. I don't know if I can watch the next series. The adoption storyline was just awful to me. Pregnant teenager, vulnerable, she gives birth and is just left in the delivery room. I presume this would be standard in America but I found it too Handmaid's Tale.

And Brady coming off his motorbike. How much more misery could Brie take 😭

I’m struggling with this season. I’m on episode 8 and I’m just a bit bored!

Dontlletmedownbruce · 21/05/2026 22:17

That 'man I feel like a woman' dance made me cringe!!! I can't understand how Mel is so chirpy when so much is going on. Her and Jack are all loved up and laugh a lot, I think I'd be totally stressed in her position. I hate the way everyone indulges Hope's bullshit, she is so annoying and self serving. I want to slap her narrow face. Yes to Brie and Brady, love them!!! Also, i didn't know cancer treatments in US allowed people be accompanied by the local sewing circle, that made me laugh.

It's so awful but I love it!!

Renohouse · 21/05/2026 22:25

Another person here who finds it so awful but also loves it and continues to watch!

Love Brie and Brady more than jack and mel. The baby storyline also makes me feel uncomfortable, with Mel being in a position of power to a vulnerable teenager, that just shouldn't happen.

I like Doc, Hope drives me nuts. Also agree with others about the weird honeymoon episode.

Can't believe there's a season 7! Stopped watching at season 3.
