Zombie apocalypse lessons from The Walking Dead and what I'd do differently

In the event of a zombie apocalypse, what have you learned from TWD?

I would:

• Wear eye protection when slaughtering walkers (they do in S1E1, but never again. Considering they are so anxious about scratches, why not transmission through mucous membranes?).

• I would not feel it incumbent on me too have sensitive discussions with the whole tribe around me (telling Daryl that Merle is still in Atlanta when it was blatantly clear he would kick off).

I would find an island and stay there .

I wouldn't keep a whole bunch of zombies in a barn.

I’d have to start strength training and ask Michonne to train me in killing zombies.

To remember the zombies will surely 'run out' as they can't breed. Best idea is for the non zombies to breed galore to make a new generation

All of those programmes/films have shown me that the best way to stay alive is to avoid other people at all costs. Settlements get attacked.

Same idea in The Last of Us/28 Days Later and various other zombie properties.

My dd is watching this at the moment and says she would avoid human men more so than the zombies…

I agree with your DD. Aside from the villains, when women let Rick in, he ends up getting them killed!

Pre-order loads of contact lenses and glasses so that I would be able to see zombies coming.
