The first episode of the new season will air on 5 at 9pm on Tuesday 10 March, while the second instalment will follow just one day after on Wednesday 11 March.

e 3&4 the following week

The new season will be made up of four episodes, with every two episodes tackling one case. Returning alongside Clarke in the main cast will be Andrew Gower as DS Chet Harper and Charlotte McCurry as DC Kate Trent.

Meanwhile, other actors set to appear this time around include James Doran, Niamh Blackshaw, Cariad Lloyd, Keir Charles, Mark Addy, Stephen Tompkinson and Sonny Ashbourne Serkis, amongst others.

The synopsis for season 2 says: "Fresh from her victories in series one, DCI Ellis is once again parachuted into failing cases across the north of England. With Harper at her side, she faces a new wave of fractured communities and suspicious deaths that test not only her forensic brilliance but her resilience.

"The series takes them from a rural village, where the suspicious death of a beloved community leader exposes long-nursed resentments, to the industrial shadow of a stone works, where the death of a young woman reveals a hidden network of coercion and exploitation. Every case peels back layers of silence, ambition, and betrayal."

I watched the stolen girl on Disney so it’s definitely Ellis for me!

I really enjoyed this but I think 3 of the important characters all looked very similar.. the murder victim, the local DS and the probation officer!

Wherever it is the scenery is gorgeous.

I really enjoyed it, did guess murderer about 5 minutes before reveal. Didn’t guess/workout the rest of it!
She is so dry and takes no prisoners but cool with it. Do like the actor who plays Harper as well, I remember him from Being Human! And he was in Murdoch Mysteries which is a brilliant series.
Never seen any thread about it, god I love Yannick Bisson.

He is isn’t he, he’s one of those actors that before easy googling you knew him from somewhere. And if are like me, wake up about 3am in morning remembering where you saw him from.
Thank god for google, because I use to drive my poor DH mad with where’s he/she from! With very unhelpful clues.

I stopped watching MM when Julia character left. I may start again, I did used to love the series. Is it still as ridiculous as ever? Please say yes!

I sort of stopped watching when Julia left, as well, I think I missed a few episodes then couldn’t work out what I had missed!
I need to watch new series when it’s back, it’s such a good show .

Can anyone explain why it was daylight when they brought them out of the police station? It was last orders in the pub when they left! I initially thought they must have been questioning the murderer but then it showed the injured person being taken to the ambulance.

It's Channel 5 , lots of things are inconsistent !

The boy who had autism left the room in his house and less than a minute later his mother screamed that he had gone. They all went rushing out in their car to find him, went for ages and ended up at Ash Tor where the boy was sitting . He must've run at the speed of light to get there before them.

And the last ten minutes , when the policeman locked in and half killed the man [can't remember his name] he was trying to convince the others was the murderer to divert the fact that he was the actual murderer .

It all seemed so OTT . The first series was good and so was the first episode of this one but this ep 2 was so far fetched . It made me laugh though !!

Yes, Archie magicking up at the Tor was ridiculous.

shock revelations , surroundings abby’s death causes tremors as Ellis pushes further into the case can the DCI unpick the mystery before the secrets of the village consume everyone?

busy night at 9pm tonight so I will be watching some on demand but obv won’t comment till it’s finished - just not sure which to watch ahead 😂

I thought that was pretty good, better than the previous storyline. Chet is a bit annoying, though. And he doesn't look like a Chet. I suppose we're meant to warm to him.

I still find 2hrs the same night hard

I didn't watch them end-on-end. I couldn't watch the first one last night, so watched it early, around 6.30. Is that the end of the series? I wondered if they'd follow through on the trafficking storyline.
