Unfortunately, Matteo lost.

I saw the Carlos result, and it's a set back for Matteo, but blimey, Valentin has had an amazing time of it since winning Shanghai.
Considering he barely managed to win a match outside of Monaco before last year, this year he could be returning (if he wins his next match) as a top 20 player! (That's a big ask though, he plays Arthur Fils next, but hey, ranked 22 isn't bad either!)

It’s amazing. He was always just a wild card as a local boy. I guess their faith in him paid off.

We always joked we never heard of him outside of MC ( or RG once or twice). It's rubbed off on Rinderknech too- it's a great story.

Daniil has just been bagelled in his match against Francisco Cerundolo, going with serve in set 2, but it's looking dicey. Some wayward shots, and Mo is in charge.

The aerial shots of the stadium always look daft, because it's inside the bigger Miami Dolphins one.

And Felix is losing to Atman.

The net in the Andreeva/Mboko match was collapsing, and it took ages to get the only engineer in the whole place out to fix it. And they were only 3 games in. Then they stuck duct tape on it.

Now there's a problem with Mo's chair.

DS pulled it up on Tennis TV. I think the spider cam cable snapped into Mo's chair. All you kept hearing afterwards was Mo exhaling very loudly! Then once he'd climbed back up, he had to immediately come down to check the net with his tape measure I said to DS, I remember the days when you used 2 (wooden) racquets, one vertical and one horizontal on top, to check the height of the net!!

Poor Mo. . There were so many people around the chair, it was like something reall massive hd happened, or a wheel had dropped off.

After the duct tape in the Andreeva match (she's about to lose to a bagel in the 3rd set) , I was worried how they were going to sort his problem.

Yes, things were simpler in the old day . Mo probably preferred it.

I’m sad Mirra lost, I like her. It’s great to see Victoria doing so well though. I liked her pink dress.

I'm sad Mirra lost- and she wasn't happy at the end of the first set when she lost it. But she more composed at the end . I do think she can still get very emotional, so it was probably good she lost to someone she knows well. She is still so young.
Victoria always looks good- she's come so far in the past year.

I missed the Mo chair drama - it sounds as if the wire from the spider cam got caught around it?

There have been some surprising results in Miami - Iga has split from Wim Fissette - I hope she manages to sort things out as she doesn’t seem very happy these days

Fils and Vacherot are playing each other later today - I think it’s on in the afternoon - I get confused about the earlier starts (UK time) in Miami and end up missing some matches!

Seb was injured, but Landaluce played really well to finish off the match.

Another decent young Spaniard- he seemed to be breaking through a couple of years ago, then disappeared a bit. Has good hair .

Arthur wins, which I thought he might- but not a bad week for Valentin- and he will be looking forward to going back to Monaco , I'm sure.

Yay, got Wimbledon tickets in the resale. Court 2 day 9 - would have preferred Centre or No 1 court but at least I get to go! Might keep an eye out to see if better tickets come up nearer the time - I know when I went last year on ladies finals day resale tickets were coming up for centre court the day before (they were £££ though!) so I might be able to upgrade.

I watched some of the tennis last night - I saw a bit of the Vacherot/Fils match and the first set of the Michelson/Sinner match - I don’t think I’ve seen Michelson before - he played really well
