Casper Sad Quite glad I couldn’t actually watch it.

I've decided it's the kit.

And the fact his head is probably at home with his wife and daughter.

Fizzywinegum · 20/03/2026 22:15

Ugh Opelka has just won against Jack - just saw the last few points of the tiebreak

Raahh · 22/03/2026 15:41

I haven't had chance to watch much the last day or so- went to the cinema with Dh and all the dcs yesterday, which was nice, don't get them all together often. Saw 'Project Hail mary'- Dh has read the book, I actually quite enjoyed it.

Sad to see ADF lost, but Daniil got through after a tricky first set. Not been the best couple of days for the seeds.
Naomi Osaka lost her first match, and seems to be questioning whether it's worth staying on tour with all the early losses. I think her priorities have changed since having her daughter.

Jasmine has just started her match against Jelena Ostapenko. They obviously meet a lot on the doubles court.

Raahh · 22/03/2026 15:58

Jasmine has thrown away a 5-3 lead.

Jelena has a way of unsettling her opponents.

Raahh · 22/03/2026 16:08

Well done Jasmine - finally got the set. Jelena not happy with the noise. Great last point.

Raahh · 22/03/2026 16:22

Jelena is on the comeback trail in the set 2.

Raahh · 22/03/2026 16:51

Come on Jasmine- she's really having problems on her serve.

Raahh · 22/03/2026 17:07

Not looking good for Jasmine now.

Hopefully she can re-set for the clay season- she's another one who has a lot to defend coming up, including the Rome title.

Raahh · 22/03/2026 17:30

Wow, back on serve now- It's all going on in this match.

Raahh · 22/03/2026 17:42

oof.

Well done Jelena.

Shame for Jasmine- she started well, but was playing catch up from the start of the second set.

Fizzywinegum · 22/03/2026 19:38

I’ve been watching Miami sporadically Raahh - I saw Cam go out last night - the matches seem to be on either too early or too late!

Jasmine has not been going too well recently

I’m glad that you enjoyed the Project Hail Mary film - I’m in two minds about whether I want to see it - I do have a soft spot for Ryan Gosling but I don’t really do science fiction - I’m also still recovering from watching Wuthering Heights at the cinema Grin

Raahh · 22/03/2026 19:48

DD1 loved Wuthering Heights, I'm still not sure if I want to see it. A friend who I thought would hate it loved it, which really surprsed me. I will wait til it's free on Prime Grin.

I love Ryan Gosling- but ever since Barbie, I do still see him as 'Ken'Grin - but he was great in this. Rocky the alien, was brilliant.

Dh is a massive science fiction fan, and most of his books are sf, from all the classics onwards. I'm not keen- but I did go to a reading by Neal Stephenson (his favourite author) once- he had a lovely voice Grin.

I'm always glad to see Jelena win- she's a fun watch, but not at the expense of Jasmine maybe. She has been struggling since the end of last year, has had a number of illnesses she hasn't shaken, and just doesn't seem herself.

Taylor Fritz has beaten Lumberjerk- so that's good.

Raahh · 22/03/2026 20:20

I'm score watching- it's not going well for Carlos against Seb Korda (who recently got engaged ). Seb is a set and a break up.

Fizzywinegum · 22/03/2026 20:20

Yes probably best to wait until it’s on for free Raahh Grin the people that I know who enjoyed the film of WH hadn’t read the book (the book is also a bit weird!)

Jacob Elordi was quite a good Heathcliff and did a passable Yorkshire accent - Martin Clunes was also surprisingly good

Back to the tennis - Carlos could be in trouble against Seb Korda

Raahh · 22/03/2026 20:24

Yes, I think a lot of people (dd1 included) who liked the WH film , haven't read the book. Grin

ChessieFL · 22/03/2026 20:35

As an adaptation of WH (one of my favourite books) the film is awful. It’s a sort of fever dream interpretation where Jilly Cooper has been asked to rewrite it as a bonkbuster in a parallel universe that only bears a vague resemblance to late 1700s Yorkshire.

As a film in its own right - I liked it!

Back to the tennis and Carlos is fighting back in set 2!

ChessieFL · 22/03/2026 20:48

And Carlos has taken it to a third set.

IceandIndigo · 22/03/2026 20:49

I still can’t watch tennis. Apparently my TennisTV issue can only be sorted by someone who works Monday to Friday Hmm

I want to see Project Hail Mary. Although I Ryan Gosling is forever Ken for me too.

Fizzywinegum · 22/03/2026 21:03

I like your description of the WH film Chessie Grin

I’ve not seen Carlos for a while - I like his kit and his new hair

JaneJeffer · 22/03/2026 21:05

Hot teaGrin

His hair is great- it has grown so thick. I'm very jealous.

Raahh · 22/03/2026 21:11

Hot teaGrin

Oh dear Grin

ChessieFL · 22/03/2026 21:28

And Carlos is out. Well done Seb!

Fizzywinegum · 22/03/2026 21:31

Well done Seb! Thought that Carlos was going to make a comeback but it wasn’t to be

There’s always some drama with Moutet (and Danielle Collins)

Raahh · 23/03/2026 04:06

I just saw the result of the Tsitsipas/ Fils match- ouch. Stef is really not able to string a decent run of results together and us falling further down the rankings.
