Eurovision build up 2026

Yes it is early this year but here we are, back for 2026.

Two songs are out already. I think I prefer Montenegro over Albania on first listen but obviously very early days.

The Scoreboard app has updated for this year. The Aussievision podcast is two episodes in. A new season is beginning.

Ready sad about the controversies and boycotts but hoping for a positive thread discussing the songs as they are released.

BBC sounds have released their special programs. Some Eurovision nostalgia to enjoy 🙂

I love the Latvian entry. I hope they'll go with the same staging as the video.

Others that caught my attention were France, Belgium, Albania, Austria, Moldova, Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Poland, Australia, Finland, and Denmark.

I like Eins, Zwei, Drei, but thought the flying Mini was a bit twee. A lot will depend on the staging and the level of energy in the live act.

The 30 second rehearsal clips are being released from second rehearsals. Finland are allowed to play the violin live - so pleased about that. I love Latvia too @mathanxiety. Really hope she qualifies. Portugal sound great on their clip - really different from everything else.

I think LlMNC has his first rehearsal today so we might get some still photos of the staging later.

Enjoy everyone. Reports are saying that Greece and Lithuania have great new staging. Finland is very like the national final and also very good.

I don’t think Estonia are going to pull off the live performance sadly - much as I love the song. Portugal is the other way around and are technically very good so might qualify against the odds.

I am also looking forward to the full performance from Italy - number 2 in my overall rankings and I think Croatia will be vocally very impressive too.

The traditional Semi final 1 Live thread from RedToothbrush has started.

I am sure there will be some upsets over who qualifies- it’s all very exciting.
