I liked Alex the best (not a shallow looks-based analysis at all, oh no!).

I very much disliked red-haired Jenny.

OP posts:

Alex was a drip and a real back stabber

Lucinda, lets face it, she was a waste of space although I originally liked her

Helene - terrifying and moody

Raef - yes nice and polite but jsut too posh at the end of the day

Lee- lovely, sweet genuine guy but too cheesy and erm, rough around the edges for me, I certainly wouldnt want him being the 'face of my company'

Simon - great to have a few drinks with but I bet he would throw a hissy fit every now and again

Molesworth · 13/06/2008 12:44

LOL lowlandlady

lowlandlady · 13/06/2008 12:50

But Raef could only work in a very elite kind of atmosphere - can you imagine working with someone who has to spend his life reinforcing his general superiority to the masses. "I get on with anyone Prince or pauper!" Who says that kind of thing who's still alive?????!!!!!!

Molesworth · 13/06/2008 12:52

Raef seems like a nice enough chap, but he talks a lot of shite. I think siralan was right i.e. Raef is insubstantial.

jumpingbeans · 13/06/2008 12:55

I liked Lucinda, I thought she seemed a bit erm "vacant", but ob not as she earns over 100k pa - must be good at something

Enid · 13/06/2008 13:11

She is a bloody Bunty Cupcake thats for sure

taipo · 13/06/2008 13:23

I actually found myself agreeing with Alex when he described her as toxic.

squilly · 13/06/2008 15:07

Imagine the effect Lucinda would have on your team if she was working for you. She'd piss everyone off within minutes of the job starting. If things got tough, she'd rant and rave that it wasn't her fault and if you actually had a point, she'd probably cry. That's certainly the impression you get when you saw her on the programme.

I think her problem is lack of practical sense. She may be a very intelligent girl, but has little practical sense at all. Failing so appallingly at the selling task and not even bothering to find out the right names on the cars? If that team had lost, she'd have gone home there and then.

If she's in charge, she delegates well, communicates well and is very organised. When she's not, she's a firecracker, waiting to go off and explode any chance you might have of achieving your goals. And then she'll cry.

Can't stand the woman.

ColumbosWife · 14/06/2008 22:10

Squilly you are unfair on Lucinda ( though I agree the car selling was a low point)! She worked brilliantly in a team during the Marrakech week when she was working for Lee.

onenightonly · 14/06/2008 22:11

Worst...Jenny

Best.....Lee 'That's what I'm talkin' about!'

poppy34 · 14/06/2008 22:14

jenny and jennifer were equally witch like but difficult to place if they were worse than michael (how the feck he stayed in so long is a mystery) or kevin.

Simon prob my favourite but didn't mind clare. \

I think Lucinda is like me. Doesn't suffer fools and has great trouble working for/with wankers.

squilly · 15/06/2008 09:34

I stand by what I said about Lucinda. She cried, stropped and was generally unhelpful in most of her team roles.

As a leader, she's fine. I wouldn't want to slot her in any team I was running. She just doesn't like being told what to do.

And if she isn't in her comfort zone, she'll put her hands up in the air and say, I don't know how to do this. I have to say that doesn't inspire confidence.

Lee won cos he didn't give in when things got tough. He just kept pushing ahead.

And in the car sales task, when she was coming near the end of the show, she just said I don't like sales and followed the others round like a lost lamb. Not knowing the name of the car she was selling was unforgivable in my view.

Nope....I stand by my original view. I wouldn't hire her.

Twinklemegan · 15/06/2008 18:02

She doesn't like being told what to do by idiots who don't know what they're doing. So if she was to be difficult working in your team... And I'd much rather have someone work for me who knows their limits, than the majority of people in business who blag their way through regardless and make a complete hash of it.

taipo · 15/06/2008 19:19

I agree with Squilly. I didn't like the way Lee and Alex treated her in the car task - they really seemed to be trying to stitch her up by making her go off on her own. but I think Lee, in particular, was at a loss as to how to deal with her in that task.

squilly · 15/06/2008 19:21

Wow...nice judgey pants about me, twinklemegan, when you don't even know me! No wonder you like Lucinda!

And I don't think she hates working for idiots. She hates doing anything she doesn't like to do. That gives her a limiting skillset in my book and an incapacity to grow. Good in some areas, but across the piece? I'd rather take a grafter who'd give things a try and be prepared to fail than someone who stays firmly in their comfort zone and doesn't want to give new skills a chance.

You can convince yourself she's good, but to me, she's exactly what Sralan made her....a loser!

Twinklemegan · 15/06/2008 20:58

No judging here. Just saying that if someone is difficult to manage it might be because they won't put up with cr*p management.

She got to the final five - that's no loser. Sralan would definitely have got rid of Helene as well, but he needed an even number for the final.

squilly · 16/06/2008 10:55

I agree about the Helene thing. She was not a shining star. There were things about her I liked, but overall, I don't think she showed the crowd what she could do when she had the opportunity.

On the final task she looked a bit pathetic really. It was the decision making that let her down. I suspect she's used to making decisions in a group, rather than on her own or at least with lots of help.

I think Lucinda would be a great management consultant, as she clearly is, but I wouldn't want her working for me.

Working for her? That would probably be a different matter. She seems cool, confident and controlled in that position. And I think she'd take input from people, give credit where it's due...all the sort of stuff a good manager would.

I think the interviewer who said she would make the office just the right colour and sort out your shakra was bang out of order. Patronising little oik that he was...

Having said that, I don't think she's a team player. I think she's been the boss for so long she couldn't/wouldn't work well for someone else, crap or otherwise. Some people just are leaders, not players...and I think she recognised that when she started to question why she was there.

I think they made the right decision giving her the heave-ho...and anyway...I liked Lee. He may have lied on his c.v; who hasn't...and yes, I know lots of you probably haven't, but lots of us have. He was just daft enough to do it on something like education (very easy to check up on) and with someone as thorough as sralan. Not smart! I just liked his enthusiasm. It rubbed off on the others he worked with and made him a bit of a star in the end. Though flawed. But who isn't??
