Does anyone else miss edgy TV like The Word, and the early days of TFI Friday and Graham Norton?

Apart from HIGNFY things are so uncontroversial now (apart from "The Last Leg" which is so painfully politically correct it is an insult to critical thinking, IMHO).
If anyone can recommend a programme to shock me - TV or radio - I'd love to know.

Call Jonathan Pie, R4.

Yes I used to love The Word on a Friday night.

I remember Graham in the early 2000s when he was on every night, and he was brutal.

Joe Lycett's Channel 4 show is so much in this vein. There's been 2 series, and hoping for a third.

Used to love TFI Friday.

I'm not sure they would get away with it now
I used to love "The Word" but a lot stuff was very close to the bone.

God no

I loved TFI, it was brilliant.

Yeah those were great. I loved it when Graham used to ring up all the oddballs on his big furry phone. (Not a euphemism.) Agree that Joe Lycett is the closest you get to it now. Not slick or bland and very funny.

I loved So Graham Norton and V Geaham Norton. I wish I could watch them all again! He had some massive names on there too, I remember Cher, Elton John, Dustin Hoffman!
