Same here.

I liked Amber’s dancing, and quite disappointing that no one got a waltz or foxtrot in the instant dance. Actual ballroom seems to be being phased out.

ExitPursuedByABare · 29/11/2025 23:41

Alex’s face doesn’t look right to me. Swollen and puffy, maybe from drugs (medicinal ones). And she looks like she can barely move properly. I do hope she is ok.

Anyone else suspicious that the instant dances were all different styles and mostly latin? I don't think it was the producers trying to fix the results but I wouldn't put it past them to have engineered things to make ID's first incarnation high energy and varied.

Yes, dd and I said the same. It seemed a bit suspicious that they all randomly managed to pick different dances. Also that Alex got the one dance she scored a 10 for.

Empress13 · 29/11/2025 23:45

Definitely think Alex has had enough now and tbh wouldn’t be surprised if she was relieved if she was voted off. Thought Karen danced much better in the instants tbh. Would like anyone other than Louis and Amber to win as they both have experience (nothing against either of them as people just stating fact) and the others are competing as total novices which I think should be admired and taken into consideration

Karen isn't a total novice.

The only total novice is George.

Twonewcats · 30/11/2025 00:49

The HUGE issue with Instant Dance is that they all watch the dances before them, and therefore add more and more oomph with each couple.

Secondly, there is no way on Earth that (specifically) Lewis and Amber's ID dances hadnt been at least partially rehearsed. Throughout their dances, they weren't reacting and being led, they were basically doing choreographed routines 🤷🏼‍♀️

Houmousandcrisps · 30/11/2025 01:07

I enjoyed the chaos of tonight - particularly Nikita’s trousers, George’s coat and Lewis and Katya’s mismatching outfits Grin
Can someone explain what prior dance experience Karen has?

xsquared · 30/11/2025 01:19

This article was shared in an earlier thread, that explains Karen's dance history.

I really don't think she should be going on about age and tired bodies. It's surely enough to say she didn't do it well.
Only Craig has scored that honestly.

I found her a bit annoying with all this. She can quit at anytime if she’s struggling.

FrothyCothy · 30/11/2025 01:40

The instant dance was all dances they’d done before wasn’t it? So of course some looked more polished and rehearsed than others as they remembered it better and performed it better the first time they did it.

What an awful perspective to have. She has had cancer, is post menopausal and it is a gruelling schedule for anyone. Have a heart for goodness sake

Strong pain relief crossed my mind too.

I re-watched the instant dance section a few hours later and at the end of their dance, JoJo gently walked her over to the celeb side and crossed back over to the pros. She'd very much used handrails through the evening too.

She's concientious and is the type to want to do things well. She's not the type to drop out and will be aware of the pressure of too many celebs dropping out. She did bloody well to see the evening through, particularly with an extra dance section added.

SproutingBroc · 30/11/2025 08:04

I thought George was great on Saturday, such a joyful dance. Instant Dance turned out to be a lot of fun too, and it was great to see the judges actually credit Balvinder for a change.
Poor Alex is obviously in massive pain and needs to leave for her own well-being; such as shame as she was so great at the start.

To be honest I've rethought this a bit. I found it a bit too much at the time, but I became more aware of how much she was struggling when it got to the instant dance stage. I now see it as her way of saying that she really can't go on and think that she might only have carried on as they can't afford another withdrawal and she might well have been assured that if she's in the dance off she can forfeit it.

She's really done her best and has done some dances she can be proud of.

She enjoyed dancing when she was young and attended classes; she had to choose which hobby to continue: dancing or football as I think both were on the same day.

The rest is history!

I think it’s because all of their options were ones they’d done before, so Lewis and Amber just remembered their routines well and re-did all the moves.

It’s pretty obvious that the BBC are grooming Karen to be the next big thing.

People were saying this a few weeks ago about LV as well.

Well no, she would be under massive pressure not to quit - it would be a bit farcical if they had another week without a dance-off. Plus, she's a professional, and wouldn't want to walk away from something she has agreed to do.

Piggywaspushed · 30/11/2025 08:40

I like Karen but she did more than 'attend classes'. She entered and won dancing contests at a high level. I think you could see form her couples' choice that her background is disco and street dance.

This doesn't make her a ringer per se (unlike Amber who certainly is) but it also does not make her a complete novice.

I can't remember who it was a few years ago who was obsessively called a ringer because they had learnt a bit of ballet as a child.

Alex was almost asking to go. She has had enough. She carried on I think because quitting would have put a spanner on the schedule.
I agree about the appearing to phase out ballroom. Which I think is a shame and wish they wouldn't. It is a nice balance of old style glamour against fast latin.

I know you have to have some degree of those who have a background in dance ( and I think as an adult and part of their career) but do think they should be handicapped in the marking in some way because of it.

Am hoping Karen wins. Having a dance lesson when you are a child and stopping as a child to play football is in no way comparable to those whose careers as adults involve dance. Anyone who went to a theatre school, or performing arts, or works in the industry will have significant dancing experience.

I like Karen. She is such a worker. She has been knocked sideways by online hate just because she was commentating on football. That the lionesses have nothing but good to say about her says a lot too.

There was no rule that said they couldn't rehearse them though. If you know you're going to have to do a bit of one of your previous dances, then it makes sense to go over each of them again at some point during the week to work out what to do for whichever dance came up. I was more surprised at someone like George who looked as if he'd given it no thought at all!

baubletime · 30/11/2025 08:52

I would actually be very disappointed if either Lewis or Amber won this year.
