It was far too obvious that those who have stage experience are used to faking it until they make it. George is the only one left that has probably never had to improvise in front of an audience. Karen is a pundit, so things go wrong, Balvinder does some of the live EE episodes and presumably had other acting experience, Amber and Lewis have both appeared in the west end and Alex is an experienced actress. George just dissolved into giggles as he realised he was so far out of his depth.

Yes and she now seems to have a husband that really loves her - writes her poetry 🥰🥰

Don't think so but on Alex's I am sure I saw a rumba dress similar to her purple one so am amazed she didn't recognise the style
If they knew about the costuming, you'd have expected them to have already said what colour they'd go for wherever possible - Lewis should have come 2nd for the outfit mismatch <gavel>

Did you actually think that Balvinder's jive was acceptable. It was dreadful. I have no idea what the judges had been watching. They criticise Karen's posture despite her having scoliosis, but say nothing about Balvinder's legs and sickle feet.

I voted Bal x 3 and Karen x 2.

I’m expecting a Bal v Alex dance off with Alex to go. I think next week will likely be Bal’s last week unless she does something spectacular or one of the others does something terrible.

What is the highest number of dance offs that a contestant has had on Strictly. If I’m right in predicting Bal in the dance off this week and next then she would surely become the reigning champion of the dance off assassins.

I thought Bal’s jive was worse than the one which lost Vicky her place in the competition. Much less content, and what was there was heavy and laboured.

I was going to say that as well - it was an ugly dance from Balvinder. Why people are giving her 5 votes for that I have no idea.

I like the way that Julian is so supportive and encouraging of Bal. I hope he stays for another season for that. Perhaps Strictly are being incredibly careful about recruiting marshmallows this year.

I think Carlos is going on a bit of a journey himself, as he seems to be stunned by Kaz and is finding himself keeping up which I don't think that he's used to. He seems to be another one that's generous and supportive.

Hated that Instant Dance crap….. surely that couldn’t have been as Ad Hoc as they tried to pretend it was?!

That's what I thought, surely they remembered what they wore when they did each dance.

As much as I want it to be every week. I worry about the production crew’s mental health if that was the case

Alex clearly has had enough. She's in pain and no longer enjoying it. I suspect conversations have been had behind the scenes where the powers that be have begged her not to drop out injured (they can't afford any more injury withdrawals this series). Probably they have assured her that if she's in the dance-off this week the judges will let her go with dignity in order to avoid losing her through withdrawal and finding themselves with not enough finalists.

Loving Karen and Carlos, I think if she can keep the momentum she could win the whole thing as the "journey" contestant, and Carlos's first win would be a good narrative. The only problem is that she has used up most of her good/fun dances which suit her and has a bunch of tricky ones left.

@nomdegrrr1 I like the way that Julian is so supportive and encouraging of Bal.

He had used his thinking time well - he was the only pro who used the ten seconds to clearly communicate to her how to start the dance.

I'd like George, Lewis and Karen to ultimately be in the final. I don't normally want to see previous dancers in there but I think Lewis has a lot of character.

I think Alex is done - she wants to leave.

She doesn’t want to give in but she’s basically telling everyone that’s she’s had enough.

She doesn’t want to be saved.

I hope people don’t vote for her just so she can leave with her head held high rather than be made to keep on struggling (and I think that’s the message she’s trying to give to the viewers).

I’ve warmed to Carlos a lot this series. I remember him shedding a tear when Ellie left. His inner big softie has escaped.

Felt really sorry for Alex, she looked fed up and knackered tonight!

Loved Lewis's improv dance, that was really good and George made me laugh with the giggling! Amber's was pretty good as well.

I didn't really like either of Karen's dances tonight.

I always like Balvinder, partly due to her having a such a rough ride from the judges. Also this instant dance thing with professional contestants is annoying.

I didn't like Nikita pushing Amber down into splits at the end.
