Rewatching classics

I’m rewatching Miss Marple- the proper ones with Joan Hickson. Very easy to watch and shows how good Agatha Christie’s plots are. Because it was always set in the past it hasn’t dated too badly, though the colours are very muted and obviously not wide screen.

The music is so nostalgic, I could be back in my pyjamas after a Sunday night bath.

What classics do you rewatch?

Joan Hickson really was the best. Those Miss Marples come out every year at least. I rewatch Foyles War periodically too.

Always Miss Marple (love those opening credits!) And the Poirots.

I don’t rewatch on TV, but I do often listen to Agatha Christie audiobooks on YouTube narrated by Joan Hickson or Hugh Fraser (Hastings in the David Suchet Poirot). And I’m currently listening to an Audible book - an omnibus of Cadfael stories narrated by Derek Jacobi, who played him in the TV series. All absolute comfort listening and they have lovely soothing voices.
