Realisation after watching the finale of Slow Horses S5 *spoilers*

So, l love the show - and the books - and watched the finale on Wednesday.
It's just hit me whilst folding the laundry that one of the final scenes was Jackson duct taping his socks back together...on his very scarred feet 😲😫🤔
So it was him, not his "joe" who was tortured ☹️
Did everyone else realise this!?
From the trailer for S6, it seems that they might be following the books more closely again...

Yes but I had to explain it to DH, who’d totally forgotten the torture story. I love the books, can’t wait for my favourite storyline to be on screen (Bad Actors).

We did, but already realised the story was his story.

It just didn't click when I watched it.
I've read a few of the Slough House novellas and don't remember that story arc.
Currently reading the new one - Clown Town - very hood so far 👌

Yes, I literally gasped when I saw that. My DH had no idea and I had to explain it to him. I found it really poignant especially as he’d told that story with scutch empathy.

The last episode was great I thought.
