Cat was the 'turn' on Strictly Results this weekend, presumably booked a while back but maybe she wouldn't have got that without the Traitors link? I assume they predicted people would know her (however far she got).

Well, she was also one of the celebrities whose portrait was painted on Portrait Artist of the Year — the episode aired a couple of weeks ago, but was filmed in April 2025. So just before filming started for Traitors in late April 2025.

Joe Marler’s portrait was also painted in a previous episode of the same season of Portrait Artist of the Year. I saw him on The Wheel as well, I think? Did someone say he’d done House of Games too?

Clearly they’re both doing the rounds and attempting to further or reinvent their careers, though I don’t know how long in advance these kinds of bookings are made.

Tiswa · 04/11/2025 10:42

The BBC would have known how far she got though when they booked surely? And that the decision was made to make her a traitor

That knowledge would be kept in as small a circle as possible. I highly doubt the booker on SCD, or even any of the production team, would be privy to that information way in advance.

They will book the singers with only a few weeks notice - they want people with current hits/current in the news, and that can’t be predicted.

We’ve all known Cat is a Traitor for a month so I can well believe she may have been booked around about that time. Her album release was announced back in August for 31st October so again that will have been more relevant.

JoeMarlerseyes · 04/11/2025 11:01

Joe was on wheel the other week, he did jobs as his subject as he said he needed one ....😂

Doh! I had forgotten it was filmed a while ago 😂

I was assuming they were pre-filmed like the group numbers but of course they aren't, as you say it's more up to date releases getting showcased - and usually only two dancers.

If we're looking for aggressive contestants, who remembers Leanne, the ex-army member posing as a nail technician? Any time anyone even started to mention her at the round table, she would get really aggressive and shout. Unsurprisingly, people stopped challenging her at all, and she ended up as one of the winners.

Yes, she was incredibly aggressive, and it stood to her.

Hannah in series 1 got to the final for the same reason. If you’re an averagely timid, dithery type going into a round table and feel under pressure to say something, and obviously have to put a name down, much easier to speak to, and write down the name of someone who’s not going to shout at you.

Pinkbox · 04/11/2025 14:36

Ah buggrit, it's not even on tomorrow this week!

butimamonstersaidthemonster · 04/11/2025 14:50

Do the people who got voted off early like paloma, Ruth, Niko etc know who wins? I know they find out the traitors before they leave Scotland but do they also get to know who won?

I don't think they do, I can't remember who but I'm pretty sure someone said they didn't know on Traitors Uncloaked.

RubieChewsDay · 04/11/2025 15:13

SmallAngryPenguinWoman · 04/11/2025 08:01

Exactly! They're paid to do their jobs. I like the fact they all get the same, levels them.
Reportedly Colleen Rooney got paid £1.5m for I'm a Celebrity....

And I'm pretty sure 40k is a big deal to the likes of Niko, Ruth and Cat.

Totally agree, this is their job and they should get paid, the amount is high in comparison to a lot of jobs, but low in comparison to things like I'm a Celeb.

barskits · 04/11/2025 15:19

Choux · 03/11/2025 22:57

I read each celeb got £40k from the Beeb. Was that for them personally or for their charity? Really all these celebs getting to take part in one of the biggest shows of the year which is massively benefiting some of them publicity wise should be doing it for free and all £40k should be for charity but I bet it isn’t.

Paying 19 celebs a total of £760k so someone can win c£100k for a charity of their choice is not really good optics for the BBC or the celebs.

They were not paid by the Beeb at all. The BBC does not make the programme.

The programme is made by an independent production company called Studio Lambert.

I know from what the regular traitors contestants have said that they don’t know. They aren’t allowed to discuss anything, but they do have a Group Chat that they set up when it starts to air. I remember in previous years when the secret about Ross and Diane was revealed the people who had already gone out didn’t know and the group chat was on fire!

If it’s like the regular version then the only players who know who wins prior to broadcast are those that are there at the time.

The winner(s) only get paid after broadcast to incentivise them not to spill the beans!

And yes of course they should get paid. They will have had to turn down jobs for this. Don’t forget that for actors especially work isn’t always there and can be very sporadic.

That is standard in most tv quizzes.

You think people should work for free?

IAmKerplunk · 04/11/2025 22:48

I recently got offered the opportunity to work in another location for a few days (so 2 nights away from my dc) where I would gain a lot of experience and get the chance to ‘network’. If it had been suggested I should have done this for free on the basis of any future opportunities I would have laughed in my bosses face 🤣

WatchThisGladys · 05/11/2025 00:46

I've just seen a few clips of 8 out of 10 Cats and realised that several of the Traitors contestants have appeared on it multiple times - Claudia, Nick, Alan, Joe W, Lucy and Jonathan. It's a small world.

CaveMum · 05/11/2025 12:29

Finalist photo from BBC <squeee>

Love how dapper Nick looks compared to everyone else 🤣

Celeb Traitors 6: Farting is Such Sweet Sorrow.
CeliaFarts · 05/11/2025 12:31

Is everyone else tall or is Nick just really short?

WatchThisGladys · 05/11/2025 12:36

Nick is pretty short, incredibly clever and totally adorable.

CeliaFarts · 05/11/2025 12:39

Oh yes, not disputing any of that. Just the height stands out a bit in that photo.

I’m also surprised all the others seem to be the same height. For some reason I thought Cat and Alan would both be shorter and Joe Marler taller.
