I’m really surprised he doesn’t as it’s one of the most obvious Shakespeare quotes

I wouldn’t even think of it as a Shakespeare quote, it’s well known enough as a saying in its own right.

Gingercar · 29/10/2025 22:08

I think Cat will let the heat fall on Alan and possibly vote for him if the others look like they are going for him.

WonderfulSmith · 29/10/2025 22:09

Wilf is annoying.

DickDewey · 29/10/2025 22:09

Alan has to do it. It would be glaringly obvious if Cat does it as she didn’t appear to even recognise it as a Shakespeare quote.

ThatCyanCat · 29/10/2025 22:09

I'd find some way to say it as a closed phrase, like it was the end of a sentence, then start a new one with my chosen name. So something like, "Well farewell Jonathan, as they say, parting is such sweet sorrow... Celia, are you ok/can you pass the wine/who do you think the other traitors are?"

Yes, but they’re supposed to be toasting the person whose name they say, aren’t they? They’d have to say it as they leave at night. I wonder if they could get away with saying everyone else’s names immediately afterwards- like they were toasting everyone?

Choux · 29/10/2025 22:07

The murder needs to be hidden by being followed by a series of other toasts to players. “And a toast to you dear Celia our Queen of the faithful”. “Nick here’s to you eating dinner straight after a lasagne”. “Joe, you can sleep easy tonight with your shield. Cheers to you” etc etc

Great ploy

Minto111 · 29/10/2025 22:13

Alan is so funny

"why do I have to do all the dirty work?. I'm surprised they don't have me up in the turret doing a bit of hoovering and light dusting"

Oh yeah, I forgot it had to be a toast.

Agree with PP on toasting everyone. It still looks conspicuous but it's the best bet.

Sorry, I missed your post. Yes I agree.

CrimsonStoat · 29/10/2025 22:15

Shame Alan's got the short straw again, but Cat would stand out so much if she tried to say it!

Yes, I think that’s the only way they could possibly get away with it

Minto111 · 29/10/2025 22:15

They make poor Alan do everything. He should have made Cat do one seeing as he has already done one

Delatron · 29/10/2025 22:16

I feel like the producers are setting it up for Cat to win. By forcing Alan to do another murder in plain sight (well setting the task so only he could do it).

Minto111 · 29/10/2025 22:16

"There will be a Jonathan Ross shaped hole in my turret"

Holluschickie · 29/10/2025 22:16

I think they will murder Celia.
And likely David will be banished.
So Joe, Nick, Cat and Alan will go to the end.

She could do it. Her being young is not an excuse.

It’s not her age, it’s that both she and Alan acknowledge she just couldn’t say that convincingly

She'd never get away with it. It just isn't something she'd say. She didn't seem to recognise the phrase.

Although if Alan could get her to do it, that would likely get her banished and then he could play alone and maybe win alone.

Holluschickie · 29/10/2025 22:18

Minto111 · 29/10/2025 22:16

That's not the reason she can't do it. It's because it's such a theatrical phrase it fits with Alan's OTT personality.

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 29/10/2025 22:18

Well! Too busy watching to post, but thanks for the new thread. 😀👍

That was all wonderfully dramatic. I did enjoy Jonathan's exit. I think this murder will be awkward and weirdly "flat" as it'll be too obvious.

Minto111 · 29/10/2025 22:19

CeliaFarts · 29/10/2025 22:17

But it wouldn't be any harder for her than it is for him.

She just didnt want to do it.

He is a fool to give in and do it for her.

Cat is setting herself up for a win, by making sure Alan will be in view, while she is under the radar

itsraining2024 · 29/10/2025 22:19

Jonathan was really good in this. He’s really clever. Will miss him but atleast his farewell was fantastic ❤️

It shouldnt be based on "who can do it better".

They should all have to do one. Alan already has stuck his neck out. Cat has done nothing

Appalonia · 29/10/2025 22:20

He dressed like a traitor! Lol
