I really like Grace and Ash. In fact I think they are the only two I actually do like.

Been away for a few days and couldn't access E4 - catching up has been positively draining! I'm finding myself with other tabs open and on my phone messaging, very uninvested now.
I hate Steven - his defence of JR in front of the whole table while Nelly had been defending herself and the relationship showed where his mind is. He's checked out because he'd like to bang JR before she heads home. All of Nelly's insecurities have been triggered in this show and having them raked over by the producers asking her about her past can't have helped, let alone living Ratboy with his z-list shaglist and lack of empathy with a broken rib. I see some fire in her and do think she's had therapy but this whole situation isn't conducive to helping trauma when so much is deliberately done to aggravate old wounds.

The experts with these tasks; forcing them to have sex by week 2 for SEX WEEK then pretending they are wise for Rebecca knowing sex isn't actually any good without real intimacy (sorry Dean, your world must be shattered at this point) just highlight why the show is so pointless. It's all drama created and manufactured to hurt and disturb people with trauma who just want to be happy so they are desperate enough to be on a TV show. After 3 episodes in a row I feel very alienated from it all to be honest.

I really dislike April more each week. She looks at people with pure disgust. Her eye rolling and face pulling on the sofa was rude, while she expected carrot brain to back her up after telling everyone she wasn't into him. She didn't even have the balls to be honest and say whatever she was eye rolling about to Grace at the end. She's after Ash and I think he is changing his effort to Grace because he knows he has her as another option.

Yes, this! He was saying "she needs to see the real me" and "everyone else has seen me and knows who I am" but missing that the "real" him hasn't made any effort at all. It's banter vs brain here.
How can a man get to 30 and not realise people talk about intimate vulnerable things after sex? That said A LOT to me about what he "understands".

Gutted that they didn’t put April and ash together for partner swap. I think Ash is living in a controlling abusive relationship, and he’s forgotten how it feels to live normally, a week with April of being able to not walk on eggshells with every word he says would have done him the world of good.
Nelly is totally mental, no one can meet her needs as they are unreasonable and infeasible. Steven needs to leave as Nelly just won’t let go for fear of being alone.

Would love to see Ash and April make a go of it. Not sure she’d be suited to a settled country life but she’s game for a laugh, is pretty and positive. Just what Ashley is looking for.

SOME people talk about that sort of thing. Most people just go to sleep and don’t have to have some emotional heart to heart. It’s weird to me, but then I’m not a needy or sensitive person. I would find it really cringey.

She did say all the right things at the end, in a slightly rehearsed manner. I wouldn't be amazed if she hadn't been being told this her entire life in various ways. She's sadly very damaged to the point I don't think even she knows what she wants or needs.

I'll agree to differ on the Ash thing, I know a lot of men who roll over and sleep, but usually at least at the start of a relationship couples use this time to talk. I think the intellect and age of April is better suited to him though. She acts about 21 so I think that will suit Ash's level of bants better.

I caught up on the retreat dinner party episode last night and actually thought I liked how they are pretty cohesive and supportive as a group - like how they have rallied round Divarni and Maeve.

It's a lot nicer than last year when they were all just going at each other the whole time and bullying people.

Steven is such an idiot. Nelly too. Wake up Nelly. She seems to be sleep walking through this experience. She's telling him he is not enough and then when he says he is close to checking out, she is surprised.

Poor old Maeve. Feel sorry for her. I think she has possibly shot herself in the foot.

But also, she had a lucky escape.

I was genuinely annoyed by the ixperts last night. Totally disagreed with a lot of their comments.

They’re bloody encouraging Nelly to constantly seek reassurance from Steven, it’s not normal. She needs to find how to love herself, it’s not your partner’s job to fix you. Not that he ever would, tbf. And clearly he stepped in for JR to keep the shag shed door open later.

Same with Grace and Ash. They’re all pushing for him being the one to change but it’s blindingly obvious the girl has issues deeper than a tin mine and they’re horribly mismatched.

As for April - god knows what’s going on there. She was all up for it early doors (remember “sexy, sex, sex!”) but now she’s saying she only enjoyed it pissed, sorry “intoxicated”. Poor lad probably thought he’d won the jackpot, he’s not intellectually equipped to try and unravel what’s happened. Not sure I am actually.

Has anyone been listening to Lara’s mafs podcast? She’s so funny! We really missed out on seeing her as a person. Podcast is great!
