Nelly can’t win. Early on she was criticised for being too needy - it’s not needy to expect more input and less outright hostility from the nasty piece of work she found herself married to.

Now she’s being criticised for being too needy again, when she’s just standing up for herself in response to deliberate provocation from JR, and good for her.

I agree she has to give up on any idea that her sly, self-serving “husband” has the slightest interest in her, but she’s a decent, genuine person who deserves so much better than him.

I think that too - the women who have brains are coming across as worryworts thanks to so many interventions by the experts to push them into that domain. The guys on the whole don't seem to have any reflections on previous relationships or why they didn't work (other than Dean being nasty when skinny) so they don't get the same level of obvious sledgehammering. It's really tough for the women because they seem to be invested in becoming better, whereas a lot of the men think they are already the real deal and ready to go, just an unmined gem! For example Ash hasn't considered his personality and why he has a kid and 3 failed engagements, while Grace is trying to resolve her own issues as well as suggest his to work on for them to survive because he's convinced he is already perfect and all she needs to do is drop her standards.

Yes, we suspected at the start his idea was to keep Grace on the farm to be a live in nanny and do some work on the quads to showcase his Barbie Quad dream.
