That’s a very useful article thanks

I can’t quite see the celebs signing up to blindfolds and total phone bans however. I reckon Kate Garraway must have insisted on speaking to her kids every day for example

I agree. It isn’t damming at all. I started rewatching and the first episode had both Alan and JR give the game away. Alan said the turret’s that way love, and JR said see you up there. They literally gave it away as a joke and no one picked it up. The constant fuck ups by Alan have been covered by Alan’s persona and people thinking it’s real. Alan is clearly very, very capable and I love it.

It could be damning and is actually a slip up on Alan's part that could lead the faithfuls to finding a traitor if they used their brains!

they know they're in the firing line but also Jonathan is, as they named the four people that didn't have shields that were left, so all four supposedly have to face the chessboard. Except Jonathan won't actually face potential murder, which is why the fact that he might not know the details of the chessboard murder experience might trip him up the next day, unless they arrange that for him somehow

At least I think they named all four publicly and said they'd each face the murder tonight. I'm beginning to doubt my memory a little, but pretty sure Claudia said who they were in front of everyone - Lucy, Kate, Nick, and Jonathan. I can't remember who else was on their team that day, but possibly Stephen (who was banished), maybe that's it

Edited

Except, he will know, because he will see it via the murder which he will be in attendance of!

PenelopeSkye · 27/10/2025 00:05

When Stephan came in to breakfast last- that was because the traitors had discussed killing him, and as a viewer you were waiting to see if it was Stephen or Joe W who had gone at that point, so the suspense is there for the viewer. Wouldn’t the participants also realise that though, so seeing Stephen last would tell them clearly he was a faithful? And the same for all the other mornings! What am I missing there?!

A lot of the time the last person in has actually been a last group, often including one of the Traitors. So it’s probably not as noticeable as we think as viewers.

Will they all watch each other though? They might be going on the board individually even if it doesn't look that way on TV. If they see who is murdered, it would ruin the tension at breakfast.

NetZeroZealot · 27/10/2025 06:44

They will go on individually

CaveMum · 27/10/2025 07:00

The murders will be individual but the chance is there that Jonathan might slip up in an effort to cover up his Traitor identity,

He could forget that he was supposed to be there as a candidate for murder, just like he forgot he had a shield. Or he could slip up in a comment about seeing something that the others didn’t.

That's a good point. I hadn’t thought about JR having to fabricate his 'near death' experience for the faithfuls. That could be interesting.

I've read that they film several versions of the entry into breakfast. if so, there will have been a few different 'last ins'.

Very new to this and just binged it all this weekend
what compelling telly!

what I am really struggling with is where are they all staying and how do they all get back to wherever that is and then not notice when the traitors go out again to meet up?

I reckon the traitors must be given some phones or something to chat and decide and then the ridiculous scenes with the cloaks perhaps were filmed all together at the end

along with the ridiculous scenes of the celebs in their designer pjs and putting their moisturizer on!

on another note I feel for Kate just because she hasn’t got a clue. Nor would I Tbf. I’d be useless.

All the wandering about with cloaks on in corridors is filmed after the end of the whole thing.

They all stay in a travel lodge near Inverness and the entire hotel is booked out because all the production staff stay there too. The contestants are on their own floor with security guards in the corridors.

But when the Traitors murder face-to-face, Jonathan will be there so will see the set-up and (presumably) Claudia, so will have enough knowledge to bluff.

Celiathebanshee · 26/10/2025 15:11

Because they always move on! It's like there some amnesia potion in their bedtime cocoa

Lucy actually noticed this and told David not to worry after the boxes of chance... she said something like "we always move on the next day".

xsquared · 27/10/2025 09:14

So much for Lucy being the "wet" one who has added nothing.

We have seen her piecing things together in the last couple of episodes. Unfortunately, I don't think she has the clout to convince the others because they may have also viewed her as a weak player.

I can’t remember the details but this was really fun in the US version

Yes - she is clever enough to appear a bit wet/ thick so isn't a threat

It wouldn't be a problem for anyone in the castle to speak to family every day, would it?

EachandEveryone · 27/10/2025 10:04

I absolutely can’t stand the way she exaggerates her Hull accent.

Is she exaggerating though? Surely that is her accent i don't think she could put it on for long.

I did say earlier that I think Lucy will have her traitor hunter moment, but we'll need to see whether she's murdered!

They will have signed NDAs.

I don't think they will make exceptions just because they're celebrities. If the celebrity doesn't agree with it, then surely they're not fit to take part.

One of the S3 contestants (Frankie) said she didn’t tell her kids she’d been in Traitors until the publicity material came out and I’m sure another (Minah) talked about how much she missed talking to her little girl while she was in the show.

tennissquare · 27/10/2025 10:47

Yes Frankie said on a podcast that she told her boys she was on an interior design job in Scotland without WiFi and the job kept taking more time than expected. She made the reveal to her family at Christmas using the traitors board game. Kate Garraway’s dd is now at uni, I’m sure they could manage without much contact.

Underscorn · 27/10/2025 10:50

EachandEveryone · 27/10/2025 10:04

I absolutely can’t stand the way she exaggerates her Hull accent.

Don't know if you saw S3 but someone in that adopted a fake accent for the whole series

And yes, the celebs do sign up to blindfolds, unglamorous hotel, no family contact - it's only for two weeks or something and that's the deal.
