I don't think Alan forgetting his shield is as damning as people think. He just happened to be in the team that got shields and I don't think that's as memorable as actually digging in the dirt and finding a shield with your own bare hands.

I agree. It isn’t damming at all. I started rewatching and the first episode had both Alan and JR give the game away. Alan said the turret’s that way love, and JR said see you up there. They literally gave it away as a joke and no one picked it up. The constant fuck ups by Alan have been covered by Alan’s persona and people thinking it’s real. Alan is clearly very, very capable and I love it.

Yes but at that stage it was a joke because neither of them knew the other was a traitor at that point.

I wonder what will happen to the 2 faithfuls who aren’t murdered (probably Lucy and Kate). Will they know they were in the firing line ? Surely that will confirm them as faithfuls.
Also I think Alan will crumble at the slightest bit of pressure put on him at the RT. They need to turn the screws!

PuppyMonkey · 26/10/2025 16:45

The Faithfuls will say that one or both of the two survivors are Traitors who put themselves forward for murder as a double bluff. Similar to the coffins scenario.

TakeMeToAnIgloo · 26/10/2025 16:45

they know they're in the firing line but also Jonathan is, as they named the four people that didn't have shields that were left, so all four supposedly have to face the chessboard. Except Jonathan won't actually face potential murder, which is why the fact that he might not know the details of the chessboard murder experience might trip him up the next day, unless they arrange that for him somehow

At least I think they named all four publicly and said they'd each face the murder tonight. I'm beginning to doubt my memory a little, but pretty sure Claudia said who they were in front of everyone - Lucy, Kate, Nick, and Jonathan. I can't remember who else was on their team that day, but possibly Stephen (who was banished), maybe that's it

TheMadGardener · 26/10/2025 16:58

Really hope Lucy or Kate gets murdered instead of Nick. Whoever goes, their face to face with the Traitors is going to be gold!

I'm finding Joe M rather intimidating, whatever he's like elsewhere.

I did think Joe’s reaction to it was “oh honestly I give up!” not “ha ha, got you!”. I think Alan could get away with as just being Alan and unserious/scatty. But will be interesting to see if Lucy runs with the idea.

The letters the three of them read out said they had been “shortlisted”, so for Jonathan he may simply be able to say he wasn’t shortlisted so didn’t go to the chess board. But that would still look extremely suspicious. I’m also not sure how it won’t make the two surviving faithfuls clear “hundies”, to use Joe’s term.

Pinkbox · 26/10/2025 17:59

From the stills of the chessboard murder I think it’s Kate to go as she looks bewildered. However I appreciate that’s her default look so maybe Lucy looking grumpy may be my second guess.

Runningismyhappyplace50 · 26/10/2025 18:06

I think lucy will go. Actually wouldn’t be surprised if Alan went before JR.

Would JR not just know about the chessboard and way the game plays out by virtue of the fact that he's a traitor and will be there when they "murder" one of the players? So, very easy to bluff it really.

I'm lost now. I think I might have been posting in MN or whatsapping someone and missed some crucial development

Same here! I'm wondering if I've missed an episode...

Yeah I took it as frustration that Alan isnt taking the game seriously rather than concern he’s a traitor

What do you think you've missed? Maybe we can explain it here.

Because I have time on my hands...

Can we guess from the expressions?

I think Lucy

xsquared · 26/10/2025 18:59

Alan panicked on being told he wasn't going to be murdered, but Joe mistook his reaction for confusion.

I wonder whether the other faithfuls had guessed it was because Alan had been caught, rather than because he's forgotten he has a shield.

The chessboard stuff

The murder of the faithful that was the cliffhanger on Thursday. They are going to be 'killed' by the traitors they are all going out to the chessboard one by one two will see Claudia and live, the third will see the traitors and die.

Clearinguptheclutter · 26/10/2025 22:00

Very new to this and just binged it all this weekend
what compelling telly!

what I am really struggling with is where are they all staying and how do they all get back to wherever that is and then not notice when the traitors go out again to meet up?

I reckon the traitors must be given some phones or something to chat and decide and then the ridiculous scenes with the cloaks perhaps were filmed all together at the end

along with the ridiculous scenes of the celebs in their designer pjs and putting their moisturizer on!

on another note I feel for Kate just because she hasn’t got a clue. Nor would I Tbf. I’d be useless.

No, they are strictly not allowed phones.

They leave in separate cars, and traitors "leave" as of returning to their hotel, but driver takes a a route that leads them back to the castle.

Ratafia · 26/10/2025 22:09

Lionfisher · 25/10/2025 13:43

You’re totally right she can say what she likes. And the people who hear it can think what they like too.

I think she’s using the ND or disability card as an excuse to control what other people can or can’t say. I’d say the same if she or anyone else referenced their race or gender too. Particularly where it’s something that a lot of people try to fight for equality over, using it out of context to try to silence other people undermines everything they say is important to them.

Edited

Why do you assume she was saying it only to silence other people? Why could she not have been saying it simply to answer the question that had arisen? Why do you think it's so impossible that she could have been simply telling the truth?

I don\t understand how it\s out of context either? She was simply answering a question with relevant facts.

bluevalley · 26/10/2025 22:13

That's an odd supposition. The turret scenes are the backbone of the show (I mean it's called The Traitors, or in this case The Celebrity Traitors, and they are the traitors!) and are filmed the night after the banishments, and go on for much longer than we are shown on the programme - much as the tribals in Survivor do.

As a pp said, also, no phones.

They are in individual rooms for the evening/night away from main castle and get locked in, traitors get picked up during this time then delivered back. It’s not that hard to comprehend !
