I can’t remember the details but this was really fun in the US version

Hopefully if JR is such a Traitors super-fan, he'll have watched all the series and be prepared for this possibility. Though he seems to be making enough mistakes that I'm not sure he's learned anything from the other series!

Is she exaggerating though? Surely that is her accent i don't think she could put it on for long.

Absolutely agree.
Lucy's accent is consistent in everything I've seen or heard her do (tv, podcasts, radio, scripted or unscripted)
It's a broad Hull accent.
Her personality and characteristics were scrutinised when she did Taskmaster too.
On the TM podcast Ed Gamble even asked her fellow contestants if they thought she was genuinely 'like that' and they all said that she is.
Obviously I don't know the woman myself.

I wonder if it’s also just very different once you’re actually in the series though - I imagine it to be very intense, and even with all your knowledge, it’s quite difficult circumstances to be under compared to watching at home with loved ones!

She’s growing on me in recent episodes - I think she’s smarter / more perceptive than people may realise. She’s obviously just taken a bit of time to form judgement and is maybe on the quieter side.

Kate on the other hand is extremely irritating, and I don’t think she’s really added much benefit to the faithfuls.

I absolutely can’t stand the way she exaggerates her Hull accent.

I really don’t think she does. I follow a Hull native on youtube who speaks exactly like that

EachandEveryone · 27/10/2025 12:46

Gosh, does that mean I do as well?😂

It wouldn't be a problem for anyone in the castle to speak to family every day, would it?

People on I’m a Celebrity don’t get to speak to their families, why would this be different.

Will they all watch each other though? They might be going on the board individually even if it doesn't look that way on TV. If they see who is murdered, it would ruin the tension at breakfast.

They won't all watch each other because the victim will see the traitors so if the survivors were watching they would know who the traitors are. But as a traitor JR will be there when the murder happens.

A sidebar that has amused me:

Listening to Political Currency this morning, George Osborne admitted he had binge watched the first 4 episodes of Celeb Traitors on a flight to LA after Ed Balls convinced him he needed to.

He said he was now hooked and had been messaging Claudia (who sits on the Board at the British Museum, which he Chairs) about it during the flight.

I still agree with Richard and Marina that no politicians should do Traitors though.

Claudia Winkleman is on the board of the British Museum? That feels random!

I would actually LOVE to see a (former) politician or two on Celebrity Traitors, why not?! I hate the man but George Osborne himself would be fascinating.

Claudia has a degree in Art History from Cambridge so it’s actually in keeping! I remember listening to her autobiography “Quite” where she talked about a teacher taking them to a church to see a particular painting during a school trip to Venice and just being blown away with the beauty of it.

He'll be there when the murder happens, but he won't be there to watch the others be saved by Claudia, so he won't be sure of of how that bit is done.

I agree he can't be there when the non-murders happen but surely JR must be given the details of what was involved or he would be outed the moment he comes into breakfast. It's up to him to create a false account of what it was like and how he felt etc. but not giving him that info would be akin to sabotage by the producers.

TakeMeToAnIgloo · 27/10/2025 16:09

That's kind of what I was suggesting earlier - I wonder if it almost is a deliberate tactic by the producers to give the faithful more clues!! As in, if he doesn't bother/remember to ask about it and find out (or even remember that he was supposed to be a potential victim), they won't tell him, meaning he'll be outed quite quickly.

I hope not. I hope they just let the game play without directly engineering anything to that extent. I hated them introducing the Seer in series 3.

TakeMeToAnIgloo · 27/10/2025 16:45

yes, me too. I only started watching series 3 not long before that, and hadn't seen the previous series, and it seemed to spoil what was a good idea. I hope they don't interfere in this one like that. They should provide him with the experinece or at least the information relevant to the potential murder

They’ve done this before. The faithfuls that survived asked the others what the host was wearing at the time. He won’t know what Claudia is wearing/holding or if she has any props or anything so he’s going to have to try and blag it

His description of Claudia would need to match the surviving faithfuls', if he wants to go unsuspected.

Why wouldn't he know? Wouldn't he just have to go along and act as if he's a Faithful, wondering what his fate would be, even if he knows he won't actually be murdered?

As JR is pretending to be a faithful who survives getting murdered, he will need to pretend he saw Claudia at the chessboard on the night that one of his team mates was murdered.

Since he's a traitor, he will be murdering his victim face to face instead, and not see Claudia.

The surviving faithfuls will talk about their experience of seeing Claudia that night and if his description of Claudia doesn't match theirs, then they know he's lying. Knowing this bunch however, they'll probably believe him if he tells them that he didn't notice what Claudia was wearing.

I'm getting worried for Nick now. Perhaps his gasp is at seeing Jonathan as a traitor, confirming his suspicion of him!

SingingOcean · 27/10/2025 18:41

I don't think Lucy's accent is exaggerated at all. She sounds Bransholme or Holderness Road.

WarrenTofficier · 27/10/2025 18:43

Will Claudia not also be around when the 'victim' is murdered? I'm sure she was around for the card game murder in the last series so JR will potentially see her then.

Perhaps so. It would seem a bit unfair to JR to not have the same experience of "surviving".

TheMadGardener · 27/10/2025 20:46

I think Claudia will also be around when the Traitors do their murder, so JR will see her.
