OK @Lionfisher . Tell me how you justify accusing Cat of playing a minoritiy 'card' and trying to control what can be talked about when you have only heard her give one simple, personal explanation for something? How is that Cat being controlling? It's only potentially controlling if somewhere there's a rule around not talking about disability, sex race etc. If that rule doesn't exist, and Cat didn't request anyone to stop or do anything different, then there isn't a problem. There was no evidence of implied awkwardness on Cat's part which could be taken as controlling. Her intonation and body language in the only clip we saw were open and uncritical.
But you believe what she said was problematic.

I get that you think accusing her of playing the disability card is the same as speculating on the motives behind any of the actions of any of the players. But I fundamentally disagree. It's not that I think it never happens. It's that I think the reverse is far more common and far more damaging.

Many ND individuals are afraid to explain and advocate for themselves because of the fear they will be judged as you are judging Cat. It doesn't matter that this is a game show and we're commenting on a forum, it's a little slice of life.

I would add that Cat was put on the spot in a pressure situation by Stephen with a very perceptive point that could have been very revealing, and fell back on what is a reality for her to counter it. It's not as if she has been going around saying to everyone "I am autistic and have ADHD that's why I am quiet/cannot lie/sleep all the time". A reflex response in a pressure situation is very different from a calculated game play.

So along with me being ableist you “suggest” I’m not able to hold adult conversations now either. Right.

If you have to attack the person not their point, you don’t have a valid argument to make.

🙄

Maggiethecat · 25/10/2025 18:08

I’m hoping they don’t murder Nick but that Jonathan will
be banished and Nick recruited. He can then lead Joe M up the garden path.
I used to support the faithfuls but I’ve turned full on traitor 😱

CeliaFarts · 25/10/2025 19:03

I’ve been thinking more about the edit and there now seems to be heat on all three Traitors from what they’ve shown us.

So I think there might be a Traitor banished at the next round table - but I wouldn’t automatically assume it’s Jonathan.

WonderfulSmith · 25/10/2025 19:29

What happens if all three traitors make it to the end?

What happens if all three traitors make it to the end?

They win and split the pot. Of course two of them could turn on the 3rd and vote to banish, just to make their share a bit bigger 😜

The keep banishing until they think there are no traitors.
If the 3 of them make it however, and outnumber the faithfuls, and more vote for a faithful than a traitor, then the traitors will win as long as they don't vote each other!

I thought if there is more than 1 Traitor in the final (faithfuls all banished) then they have to decide whether to share or steal.

I don’t know how it works if you have, say, 2 Traitors and 1 Faithful and they vote to end the game - whether the Traitors would just split it then or whether they’d have to share / steal between them.

Has that ever happened?

Ilovehighlandcows · 25/10/2025 20:13

There is no automatic split between the Traitors.

In your example, the traitors could team up to banish the faithful, or try to convince the faithful to banish the other traitor.

If more than 1 traitor remains (but no faithful) then it goes to Traitors Dilemma and they have to choose to split or steal. If both steal, no one wins anything.

That's the usual game anyway!

CeliaFarts · 25/10/2025 20:15

I’ve just never seen it where there are both multiple traitors and one faithful left at the end. The only series I’ve seen (not a UK one) is where there were 3 Traitors at the end and then they did do Traitors’ Dilemma.

I don’t ever think it’s been explicitly stated what would happen if it wasn’t all-Traitor at the end, but there was more than one?

Ilovehighlandcows · 25/10/2025 20:20

Also, the game only stops the banishment rounds when 1) every player agrees to 'end' them, the earliest opportunity is usually when 4 players remain or 2) only 2 players remain.

A faithful player would only want the game to end if they trust every other player is faithful too.

A traitor ideally would only want to end the game if they know they're the only traitor left (automatic win for them).

Only a traitor can ever win the full prize pot. The best a faithful can hope for is 50% as a faithful win is automatically shared.

Yes, Traitors then need to do Traitors dilemma if all remain, which is to vote to steal or share.

Ah I see what you mean now!

No I'm not sure - I'll have to find the rules 😂

xsquared · 25/10/2025 20:25

A traitor ideally would only want to end the game if they know they're the only traitor left (automatic win for them). There's no if. Traitors know how many and who the remaining Traitors are.

I'd assume the Traitors know exactly who each other are, I can't think of a situation where they'd not know?

Joe M on the wheel. All of the feels. One minute the next hugging the contestant due to his mental health podcast.

Yes, but you put "if," in your post. Traitors know who they are.

Yes they do - I meant if the situation is that there's only one traitor left, not the traitor questioning if they are alone.

Which to be fair he's been quite open about.

Love the fact that he's so blatant about looking for work now he's retired. Didn't someone say he was on DIY SOS the other night

Seriously, it's tough for sports people when they retire. I doubt he's in the Andy Murray realm of retired wealth.

the80sweregreat · 25/10/2025 22:02

Joe M was so sweet on DIY sos on
Friday. Really genuine.

CrushingOnRubies · 25/10/2025 22:24

The rest of the episode this evening i really warmed to Joe M .

And he does have really lovely eyes 😍

WestwardHo1 · 25/10/2025 22:54

OK I know I appear to be obsessed with Joe M and I am, however I have just found a clip of him appearing on Jonathan Ross with some team mates and really playing the fool. He even sang Someone Like You into a microphone. So they had met before.

JR's tentacles extend everywhere....
