I’m a bit surprised at people saying that some of the players are sly, or bullying, or bitchy. This is my first ever experience of the game-but aren’t they supposed to be like that? I mean-surely being sly is essential for being a traitor??

Yes. I want them to be sly and bitchy.

Me too Stephen's well read and uses flouncey language, but he isn't the genuis that other people seem to think.

I think it was Julie Burchill who said that SF is a stupid person's idea of what a clever person would be like 😁

I can't bear all the 'genius' crap and the fawning.

I think it's a fine line and everyone (players and audience members) will have that line placed differently.
I think being sly is prerequisite for any player. Dont give too much away and be aware of the others perceptions at all times. It's easy to get backed into a hole otherwise. Even players going for the "I'm just going to be myself " route find have to leave that behind when they're at the tound table.
Its human nature to need connection, so Faithfuls are inevitably going to seek that and if they choose a Traitor they might feel betrayed.
Passionate can easily cross people's boundary into bullying. And there are plenty of angry people in the world that try to justify their actions as passionate.

Oh that is savage 😂

Everyone saying Joe was nasty and aggressive, what a bunch of wimps you all are! It's a game, he's playing it properly unlike the rest of them (bar Nick though why he 'fessed up, God knows) all gazing into each others' eyes and saying, "I'm not a traitor, are you? No, of course not." Team Joe all the way.

Well exactly it IS a game so why get so worked up, angry and aggressive. He doesn't seem like a nice person at all. Would hate for him to win but doubt he will.

I wonder whether those who say Joe was being nasty and aggressive have watched regular Traitors before.

Joe was only moderately combative in my opinion, in comparison with some of the round tables in normal Traitors. See Anthony vs Dianne and others in season 2, and a girl who went out early from the same season whose name I forget!

I've never seen any previous Traitors, so you might be right. However, I've also got domestic abuse in my background, so I can be hypersensitive to even the slightest flicker of male aggression. (Apologies for the overly serious comment...am not meaning to bring the chitchat down at all...just a quick aside about it).

I agree. I can't see why he's a 'genuis' either. He's well educated and well spoken, that doesn't make him a genius.

Apparently they had a really bad over the top personal row offscreen the night before, so bad they couldn't use any of it on tonight's. Everyone v shocked. Must've been due to David gunning for Stephen a couple of nights, and the reciprocal 'you're such a genius' comments, being total poisoned arrows in Traitors.

Apologies for the Daily Fail link but here it is David and Stephen disagreement

Celebrity Traitors' Stephen Fry embroiled in secret feud with co-star

Celebrity Traitors star Stephen Fry became embroiled in a secret feud during filming of the show, the Daily Mail can reveal.

David seems so mild mannered though
i can’t imagine him rowing with anyone.

I also think Claire Balding was far more astute and analytical than Stephen.

When she pulled the lever and ruined the answer for that first challenge?!

Spot on!

He doesn’t come across as a nice person at all, more of a nasty oaf!

Choccyp1g · 24/10/2025 12:50

Fascinating piece in the Daily Mail...NOT

All it says was that they had a row. I want to know what they SAID, and how loud they were.

the80sweregreat · 24/10/2025 12:57

A lot of these type of leaks are probably rumours or something like that. Best to take a lot of it with a pinch of salt.

Exactly this. To be successful you need to accuse (on the flimsiest of grounds), lie and confuse both the Faithful if you are a Traitor, and those you suspect to be Traitors if you are a Faithful to force mistakes and giveaway comments. It's all gameplay... although the atmosphere reportedly gets very heated in there.

It's the Daily Mail, so not worth reading.

Joe M is a bully tbh. The way he gets aggressive and smirks. He tries to intimidate but looks like a bully. Whenever someone votes for him the look on his face is hysterical. I hope he goes soon because his passion for winning isn’t very polite. It is a game but there’s no need to be so aggressive and rude.

The men need to be careful, one of his rugby disciplinaries was for grabbing googlies!

drivinmecrazy · 24/10/2025 13:33

When nick fessed up at the round table I think he was doing it to deflect attention away from Joe.
without his intervention I’m sure that Joe would have been voted off

CaveMum · 24/10/2025 13:37

IPartridge · 24/10/2025 12:38

I've only just realised I don't understand how someone wins.

To win you have to vote to end the game or, if you think there is still a Traitor, banish again.

Once you agree to end the game the last players reveal their status - Traitor or Faithful. If only Faithfuls remain they split the prize. If there as 1 or more Traitors they take it all.

It all comes down to do you trust the people in the Final with you.

Pinkbox · 24/10/2025 14:03

TRIE said on their post-show pod last night that most of the others would indeed be wary of crossing Jonathan due to his influence in the entertainment industry. They pointed out that JoeM however doesn’t give a flying fk about any of that.

I think it’s a shame if real life has had that effect on the game and presumably production didn’t realise that could happen.

It certainly does look like people are intimidated by Jonathan Ross.

Holluschickie · 24/10/2025 11:49

Yes. I want them to be sly and bitchy.

As Claudia says, "What's the name of the show?"

In the first half, the game is deliberately stacked against the poor clueless faithfuls and Claudia chides them accordingly. As the game nears the end and everyone gets examined, Traitors are dragged out of the mix and low-profile traitors start to not do well here. If there's a Traitor vs Traitor showdown at the roundtable, depending on how personal it gets, this is one of the best opportunities for the faithful to apply their evidence retrospectively and things can finally click. The faithful can start piecing together multiple days of evidence through the lens of these OTT roundtable bunfights.

The faithfuls have been deprived of that so far because the Traitors have been playing as a very close, tight-knit unit, but I can see all that unraveling this week, now that Big Dog #1's been downed. The faithfuls desperately need that blood to direct them correctly.

Unfortunately for the faithfuls at that point, a recruited traitor is the most blessed position to be in with the greatest chance of winning the show - at that point, it's the recruited traitor's to lose.

IAmKerplunk · 24/10/2025 14:16

I am loving the TRIE podcast each week - you can tell what super fans they are, their excitement alongside knowledge of the entertainment industry makes it really interesting to listen to. Marina is my new girl crush

notacooldad · 24/10/2025 14:16

I really not totally convinced that this isn’t a bit scripted and planned
Yeah, I have been getting those vibes.
