Well, no. It was a cliffhanger, not a wash-out. They obviously have planned exactly what they would do as a tie is hardly impossible.

There was a tie in one episode of S2 UK, and before they voted again Claudia announced that if there was a second tie it would go to fate/ chance... so they obviously already know what the plan is. I didn't find it a wash out, it was supposed to be a cliffhanger.
Although the fact it's two faithful is disappointing.

Superhansrantowindsor · 23/10/2025 08:42

A few points
In a way they are at a disadvantage to none celeb versions as they either know each other or know things about each other. This could be clouding their judgement

As for clues - they are some clues.
Why did two faithfulls accuse Jonathan of something which he denied? People need to look at that. It is irrelevant what was said - focus that two proven faithfuls said something together which another player disputed.

The first murder was in plain sight. It was Paloma and they were told plain sight. They don’t know how. Previous games it has been passing an object. So they should ask themselves who was near Paloma or likely to have been sat close to her? I know it’s a long shot but it’s something they should consider.

Bit late to this thread so apologies if this has been done to death but is anyone else finding Stephen Fry insufferable and all the fawning about how he is the cleverest man in the whole universe, even more insufferable!!?

And don’t get me started on David - he’s not an academic so please will they stop with the “he’s so clever” wanging on. I did the same degree at the same university as him and no one fawns over me like I was Steven Hawking 😂

lettingthedaysgoby · 23/10/2025 08:45

I think there are a number of factors in play - I think Nick is sufficiently analytical that he may have worked out that accusing people can make you a traitor suspect in other's eyes (as it is a diversionary tactic - Cat seems to be very good at dropping names quietly without being obvious, for instance). Others may have worked this out, too - Lucy (but that might just be the edit).

The 'Celeb heirarchy' also seems to be a big factor still, and JR is so obviously a traitor that the analytical ones, at least, may not be accusing him at the table as his big dog-ness is obscuring who the other traitors may be.

I'm sure they are told there will be three traitors selected at the start.

Why the hell has the heat gone off Wossy?

Because he quite cleverly asked to speak first and started the discussion going about others, and several of them followed his lead. But I suspect that some of them are deliberately keeping him in on the basis that they would rather know who at least one traitor is than have to start again sussing out who's been recruited. Plus when he finally does go the other two traitors will suddenly jump on the bandwagon so it's worth looking out for people who suddenly change tack like that.

I wonder whether the producers will throw something into the mix that gives the faithful more clues? They've done that in the past when the traitors appear to be completely under the radar.

Yes, if it had been a Faithful vs. a Traitor, that would have been Chef's Kiss!

IAmKerplunk · 23/10/2025 08:56

Did anyone actually see Alan touch Paulina’s face? I thought they were in a room in their own when he did that

What did they do to give clues about who Traitors were? I don't remember that.

As much as I hate to say it I think the traitors have to kill Celia next. She has zero suspicion and is respected by the group so she won’t get banished. The longer they keep her in the fewer people the traitors will have to pin it on. Stephen could still possibly be banished due to the big dogs theory- but only if he is banished before Jonathan. If Jonathan is banished before him it will secure him as a faithful so the traitors will then have to quickly murder or recruit Stephen I reckon

Edited

Actually I think she's worth keeping for now for that very reason. Then, later, they can start to say, "Well, who haven't we suspected? Who's flying under the radar, who's never had heat on them?" By that point I think Faithful are much more open to suspecting people they previously didn't think of.

RedRec · 23/10/2025 09:05

I thought Cat was very clever in dropping Jonathan's name into the mix. Made her look genuine, and I don't think for one minute that she actually meant to vote for him.

Exactly. And then she immediately deflected to David, I think.

I'm hoping it will be Mark that goes as I think if it's David, they'll still be suspicious of Mark, but if it's Mark, they may not be as suspicious as David and may rethink their plans.

Pretty sure quite a few of them strongly suspect Jonathan - definitely Celia, Stephen, Joe M and maybe Joe W and Nick, but get distracted or are keeping him in. Didn't Joe M say something about voting for the minions rather than the head or similar?

Am also amazed at how Alan gets away with all the giggling!

I'm worried for Celia and Joe W tonight. I don't think they'd murder Joe M as he went so strongly after Mark that he'll have suspicion on him. Nick, Lucy and David have shields, which only leaves Kate & Stephen I think.

We're away for half term next week - terrified I'll get spoiled before catching up!

ShowDownTime · 23/10/2025 09:15

The poster who mentioned that there are only four women left and that statistically one of them has to be a traitor - yes, I was thinking this too. It’s so obvious and yet they didn’t discuss this. I wonder if conversations regarding the production decisions don’t make it into the final edit because I would be spending the whole time analysing how they always pick a minority and always have 2 men and 1 woman or vice versa.

I also think loads of them have worked out that it’s Jonathan and have decided to keep him close for now. I think the next person they’ll figure out will be Cat. If you’ve seen the show before and have any understanding of how tv producers arrange these things then it’s quite obvious.

Stowickthevast · 23/10/2025 09:16

Oh and can we have a bit of love for Joe and his blankie?

The fawning over Stephen’s intelligence I’m finding bizarre. He’s not demonstrating anything useful using intelligence- Nick has been amazing solving puzzles and using logic to determine the ‘no of dives’ might be divisible by four (I take it they explained in the background that it was Olympic dives, as it didn’t say Commonwealth, world champs or anything)? David made a really eloquent and intelligent argument for why he wasn’t a traitor (I take it it’s stress that means logical arguments never seem to land at the round table). We’re not classicists, but we all immediately started reeling off who we could think died in R&J and Hamlet- wouldn’t that lend itself to Stephen’s strengths? I know Claire went mad and pulled the lever early, but I didn’t hear Stephen contributing much to that question. Just don’t understand the pedestalling of him.

No, no one saw Alan touch Paloma’s face. Ruth was there in the kitchen but then she went off so that’s when Alan did it

There’s so many ways the game can go depending on the traitors - which is why I love it so much more than other reality shows!

I agree. He’s very well educated, well read, has an amazing memory. But I don’t think that’s the kind of intelligence that necessarily helps in a game like this - we’ve seen no real evidence that he has exceptional skills or deduction and logic

Celiathebanshee · 23/10/2025 09:36

I’m loving this series and finding it extremely entertaining - and enjoying how many people are watching this so I can talk about it! - but it is not as gripping as the non-celeb one. I don’t know if it is because the stakes are lower so they care less, or because they are all so far very polite to each other.

He’s not any better educated than Clare Balding! Both Cambridge 2.1s. He’s considerably less well-educated than Nick or David.

ThatCyanCat · 23/10/2025 09:41

Everyone thinks Fry is incredibly intelligent because of QI. Obviously he's clever but he really isn't this towering intellectual colossus.

I'm finding him much more likeable than usual on this, probably because he doesn't have the upper hand so he isn't being smarmy.

Lampzade · 23/10/2025 09:42

Tofufuton · 23/10/2025 01:08

Kate threw out the names of two traitors tonight.

Lucy is so earnestly a faithful, which is a brilliant strategy for getting to the end, even if it is just her natural personality.

And Celia named Wossy and plays the game with an enormous sense of fun.

So I don't know why these three women are being picked on tonight for being "crap" when there's a whole round table, half-filled with men, being led up the garden path into measuring the "traitorousness" of two complete faithfuls.

It would be hilarious if Kate ( who everyone underestimates) was the one who discovered who the three traitors were
