I love the multi-talented Nick! He seems quite sweet and modest too. I think he's keeping his powder dry for now.

I like the players who really throw themselves into the game, such as Ruth, Clare and Mark and I strongly disagree with the PP's who want to get rid of them all. I remember Ruth as being angry towards the end, but not spiteful. It would be a crap programme if the celebrities all thought, "I don't care who wins, I'm just here to boost my profile and do some networking".

SaratogaFilly · 20/10/2025 12:05

I agree @WatchThisGladys

Would people recommend Traitors Ireland if they’ve seen it? I was planning to watch it after this has finished

Definitely, it was my first time watching one of the Traitors series and I loved it. Siobhan McSweeney it brilliant, I think she's much better than Claudia.

Agree with @honeyrider - definitely watch it! Siobhán McSweeney is a fab host! (My username is an homage to Siobhán in Derry Girls).

RTÉ does not have the big BBC money so the games are a lot lower budget, in fact there's one in particular that is terrible - but overall it's a great series. Also a warning for non Irish people - there's a lot of swearing!!

I really like Cat but I think she'll go the same way as Minah from the last series - original Traitor but didn't make it to the end.

I'm a bit worried about this too. Minah was so brilliant, never put a foot wrong, but when it got down to the final few it only takes one person to say "hang on a minute, how come Minah's name never came up" and then they have someone new to discuss throughout the day and boom! Bob's your uncle, she's the name on everyone's slate.

I'm not a huge Wossy fan but he is playing well, albeit by the skin of his teeth. He openly said in the turret to Alan and Cat "you're much better at this than me" which I think was charming. I still don't get Cat's argument that they couldn't kill someone from her team "because shield". What has that got to do with the price of fish? but JR was good enough not to argue.

I was a huge Mark Bonnar fan before this show but I've totally gone off him now, which is so disappointing. His reason for voting for Tameka was entirely spurious and yet he clung to it. He seems insecure and a bit daft.

Clare Balding: "yes, Ruth was right, yes you did say the word "allies" in the car Jonathan, yes I do think you are a Traitor"

Claudia: "who did you vote for Clare?"

Clare: "Charlotte"

She deserved to leave for this ^ I'm so glad she's gone.

I still love David but his feelings about Mr Fry are a bit strange!

RubieChewsDay · 20/10/2025 13:46

The team Cat was on didn't reveal to the other team who got the shield, so if they had killed someone from that team the faithful would have known that one of that group was a traitor. Cat used the shield she got to protect herself from suspicion.

on celebrity uncloaked Tom and Clare have taken it SO seriously ha ha

I loved Clare and her notebook! She was so unashamedly competitive.

That’s true @Hungrycaterpillarsmummy but I still
think that under direct pressure with everyone looking at him, he’ll be sweating buckets & not be able to hold it together!

I just find it so hilarious how all the Faithfuls were so focused on who had 'changed' in the most imperceptible way after Claudia chose the Traitors, and yet the sudden emergence of Alan's sweating problem - a clearly uncontrollable physical reaction - was just blithely ignored. I guess they were all to polite to say, 'Alan, we think you're a Traitor because you didn't stop sweating the whole first evening.' 😆

JewelleryCat · 20/10/2025 15:04

Thank you @honeyrider and @SmallAngryPenguinWoman I will give it a go 🙂

SaratogaFilly · 20/10/2025 15:09

Very true @newrubylane

"... if they had killed someone from that team the faithful would have known that one of that group was a traitor."

Still not getting it, sorry. Surely everyone in the whole caper would have assumed at least one faithful in each team wouldn't they? It would just be too unlikely for all 3 (minimum 3) traitors to have put themselves in one team.

It would have confirmed at least 1 traitor was in that group - an extra spotlight.

And he goes bright red at the round table.
I am finding Mark Bonner overly earnest. He really needs to lighten up.
i think JR is playing well, he’s not throwing his weight around or expecting others to kow tow to him though he must know he’s top of the food chain with SF who appears to lap any drop of adoration.

It’s been a well used tactic over the seasons and whilst it’s not concrete evidence that there isn’t a traitor in that group it doesn’t provide the faithful with clear evidence that there is a traitor in the group.

If they had murdered one of the forest group the whole day would be spent speculating on which of the remaining was a traitor giving Cat about a 1 in 4 or 5 (can’t remember the numbers) chance of being murdered.

RubieChewsDay · 20/10/2025 16:25

Actually, Alan was also in that group as well so even higher odds of the faithful catching a traitor if they had chosen to do that.

WarrenTofficier · 20/10/2025 16:26

@LindorDoubleChoc an article popped up on my phone the other day that I can't find now but it said that in an incident not shown in the edit Tameka had a slip of the tongue and referred to herself as a traitor. I assume Mark heard this so did have a reason for targeting her, even if it turned out that it was a genuine slip of the tongue.

The weakness of the show is that we are only shown a tiny percentage of what is said and done in castle so something can seem like a baseless attack but the accusations actually have a fairly solid basis (even if that basis was incorrect).

It’s a bit more copped on than the UK version, with more sarcasm (‘Yeah, I’m totally a traitor, going around murdering like mad’) and a bit less hysterical ‘I swear to you on on my granny’s life thst I’m a faithful!’ The tasks are have a budget of about €2.50, though.

But at least Siobhán McSwe3ney can pronounce ‘banshee’. And the funeral is better, and has keening and sandwiches.

Well that would have cleared it up if they had shown it, it just made Mark look a bit unhinged.

LindorDoubleChoc · 20/10/2025 16:56

"It’s been a well used tactic over the seasons" has it @RubieChewsDay? I've watched all three of the UK ones. I have a vague recollection of something similar maybe in a previous show but had the same lack of understanding of the logic behind it.

If Cat was saying "we can't let anyone think any of the Forest Team are Traitors" why on earth didn't JR have the nous to say "hang on a minute!" ?

LindorDoubleChoc · 20/10/2025 16:59

Well I'd be pretty cheesed off if I were Mark B in that case @WarrenTofficier !

I do that annoying thing as a viewer of going by what I've been shown rather than trying to second guess everything going on behind the scenes.

Yes I’m surprised they didn’t show her saying that (and it’s her who has now said in an interview that she did say it, so it definitely happened).

The BBC should have been able to predict that it would be noticed and commented on online that the first two players voted out were black. Showing Tameka referring to herself as a traitor gives people an actual reason to vote for her, which otherwise wasn’t really shown at all. I’m surprised they weren’t more aware of that in the edit.

That would only have been an issue if the garden group had also hidden the shield but Stephen was sitting at the table with it hung round his neck, because then they’d have had to decide which traitor(s) was going to have a higher chance of being identified.

It’s only logical in so much as it creates a situation where a traitor may end up having a higher chance of being caught and some faithful’s less chance of being murdered. It’s not bullet proof.
