Spoiler alert potential. Has anyone else watched all of Borderline (ITV)? I’ve just finished the final episode and I”m really confused.

WARNING: I’m not using spoilers, but someone replying might?!

Can anyone explain to me who the man in the nursing home is? I feel as if I missed a scene somewhere earlier in the series….

It's the furniture store owners father we assumed. He had the gunshot wound on his shoulder. The son must have driven the getaway car.

Just binged it too and I have no clue!! Assumed it was because I was scrolling but maybe not. The previous scene had mentioned how much male lead cop looked like his dad, then in the nursing home he called the elderly man dad so his grandad???? But really not sure, hopefully someone who paid attention will come along and explain it!

The man in the nursing home had dementia. The main male police detective was trying to get him to talk about how he killed his father. He made him think he was his son to get him to feel comfortable to talk.

But who was the man in the nursing home? And why all of the stuff about how much you look like your dad in the scene before??

Zingy123 · 08/10/2025 21:52

The man in the nursing home is Sean Gorman father of Patrick Gorman the furniture salesman. Patrick was around when his own father killed the detectives father.

Zingy123 · 08/10/2025 21:56

He knew the detective looked like his father as he knew the father from the local area.

Ok, this makes sense, thank you!

That's so funny, I avoided writing "I think I was scrolling at the wrong moment", but yes, yes that's exactly what I was doing!

I thought the series got better as it went on, I’ve finished is now and will watch if they make another series.

I have just finished this and was so confused so searched for a bingers thread.
that makes sense that he was furniture guys father who murdered Boyd’s father.
Can we assume that the bloke in the car at the end is to do with whoever just got out of prison and is looking to kill the female police officer (forgotten her name already!). And this leads into a second season.
