Started this last night. It's beautifully filmed in parts but wow it takes you aback at certain bits. I didn't realise that the movie Psycho was based on this guy. It's not for the faint hearted.

I really enjoyed it, the surreality of it all. I think part of the point was that you don't know what's real and what isn't, because Ed doesn't. You're in on his confusion. The Adeline story particularly...she is based to an extent on a real person but I also wondered whether maybe she wasn't always really there? The two hemispheres of his brain don't speak to each other, we're told, so he hears voices coming from someone else. So is Adeline the other half of his brain? Is she a manifestation of the "girl" version of himself that he thinks his mother wanted him to be? Interesting.

I've just watched this, though I forward-wound through A LOT of it in the latter episodes as I just found it too disturbing in many parts. It takes quite a lot to disturb me to the point of not being able to watch, but this was in parts repellent in the detail I thought. However, I totally agree with the poster who said he sounded like Kermit the Frog! That was just surreal in among all the uber-darkness!
