I'm not watching Strictly this year, anyone else?

That's it really. I've watched every year since 2004 but all the controversy last year has put me off.

I haven't watched it since Bill Bailey won it tbh. Too many things have put me off it. The BBC can't half pick 'em when it comes to employees/people on their shows! 🙄

I also can't stand Tess Daly's voice. (Or Vernon Kay's for that matter! Though he's not on it anyway, but they both have awful voices IMO.)

Will watch but only because there’s literally nothing else on. I suspect the ratings are still high for this exact reason.

I record it and just watch the dances - can't be bothered with all the chat.

I used to love it but I have no interest in it now. It’s tired, and I’m put off by the feeling that there’s a toxic atmosphere behind the scenes.

Haven't been able to stand it for years. I actually want to watch it, I think because it reminds me of childhood; the saturday night BBC gameshow format with a live audience appeals, and the sparkle and glitz brightens up the approach to Christmas. But the actual humans irritate me terribly.

I watched it for years but the dancers and contestants are too hyper now and Tess is soooo boring. I can't be arsed with it anymore and there's much better stuff to watch on Netflix etc.

I will watch it because it has been part of my yearly routine for so long and I crave stability in these awful times.

Also I used to watch it with my Auntie who died in 2022 so I feel I have to keep going, nonsensical though this is.

I was really cross about the drag element this year but at least this man is also appearing as a man and not trying to make us believe he is a woman.

The ringers always piss me off as does the fake best friends for life thing and the cringe making attempts at comedy in VTs which go into overdrive in theme weeks.

So many things annoy me but just sometimes there is a dance from a previous non dancer which is so good it makes putting up with the rest of the crap worthwhile.

The controversey was the year before wasn't it? But yes I actually stopped watching some years back when it went too woke. To me I liked the the way it was, men and women dancing together, and obviously at that stage I didn't know about the abusive side to it.

We used to watch it as a family but it's become much less about the dancing and more about the personalities and their emotions now - I cba listening to any more of it, especially as I've no idea who half of them are.
