The problem is that some of the storylines (like Stacey's exit) feel really rushed and forced. And then others (like the endless drugs storyline) feel like they have been going on for 20 years.😕

And the whole Zac Barney thing has disappeared.

Caught a glimpse of Zack the other week, then nothing and the Zoe thing with Sharon and the PI has also gone off the boil.

They brought in jumpers and Nicola etc, but they haven’t done a lot really have they! Nicola isn’t a bad actress , they could do more with the Nu Mitchell’s

Yes, and Teddy disappeared entirely! He is back next week though, involved with the Ravi plot.

And it's the funeral and Ben's 'return' next week. I suppose it'll make a change from mardy Zoe.

There is also some kind of incident at Walford High, next week. Joel and Tommy are involved and the Thursday episode is devoted to this story.

I am guessing that the incident with Joel will probably involve Julie as she has a job at the school now !

I hope whatever the incident is, it moves towards some kind of conclusion in terms of consequences for Joel.

He is an absolutely fabulous actor and I hope he sticks around but they do need to move things along beyond him being a vile misogynist > lots of outrage > Vicki shouting at him > Ross telling him he’s a good boy really…rinse and repeat. We get the message re. the dangers of the Manosphere. The storyline needs to progress.

If Ben is back for the funeral I guess we can look forward to a graveside punch-up with Johnny🙄

This is so true.

Stacey’s exit was way too quick and the storyline had no emotional weight and was just silly and flimsy (leaving her family for a bar job with her dodgy brother in Brazil? Do me a favour!). Felt like the work experience kid wrote it and the scriptwriters were hungover that day and said ‘yeah, ok kid, it’s your lucky day, we’ll go with that’.

Whereas I really, really don’t give a rat’s arse about this long winded drug dealing borefest, and I wish they’d hurry up and conclude the Joel the Junior Incel storyline and then send him, his gormless Dad and shouty Vicky back to Australia.

It feels as if they wanted to give Stacey a 'happy' exit but thought no further than that. Almost anything would be more believable than Sean + Brazil!

I thought the drugs storyline might be over after the shooting, but no such luck.

The actor who plays Joel is brilliant, but I agree Vicky and Ross are awful. It's a shame they brought back Vicky for this, her characterisation is as bad as Zoe's.

It was all so ridiculous with Stacey. If you plan to stay in Brazil for longer than 90 days you need a Vivis (work visa) which takes a while to be processed. You cannot simply fly there on a one way ticket, present yourself at Brazilian immigration without the visa and also proof of upfront sufficient funds to support yourself and your dependents for several months. An alleged job in her dodgy brother’s bar would not count as proof of self sufficiency.

Such a load of rubbish when they could have just sent her back to live with the Slater sister she was staying with before (Lynn or Belinda, can’t remember) to start her ‘new life’.

They should have just sent Stacey to live with Lynne again. At the end of the day , it’s not real and many leave and hardly mentioned again , it’s nothing new.
At least Jean could visit easily then and so on.

I see Lacey has released a video saying 'I am coming back, I won't be long'. I hope she'll be long enough that Max is no longer around or you just know what's going to happen.

Stacey has plenty of family, and if they wanted her a distance away from the Square they could have had Sean open a bar anywhere. And yet.... Brazil!

Sometimes the Slaters haven’t any money or prospects, the next Stacey is renting a place in London or buying flights for Brazil on a whim. She gave a lot of money away to Kat and Alfie for the pub, so you can’t even say it was some of this cash which paid for a lot of it this time around. I mean , it’s all
so silly lol

She gave the entire £100k life insurance payout to Kat which was another daft, unbelievable move for a single mother who is always struggling. Not to mention that legally Roman should have received some of the money, he was a beneficiary as Martin’s biological son. I’d be fuming if I was Ruby and found out!

Stacey mentioned Roman when she first got the insurance money , but nothing since. I guess that he’ll turn up in a few years time to cause havoc about it all.

I bet that Stacey will return with a big secret or some such ( got into trouble in Brazil with something bad )

I think the writers wanted to make the point that Stacey was so traumatised from Martin’s death that she wanted to do something drastic to feel better re moving to Brazil. But it’s still daft and unrealistic for her to go there, because of the reasons we’ve mentioned this week.

Sean was never the most reliable of people was he!

@Eastie77Returns The insurance guy just turning up to tell her was also nonsense. How on earth would the insurance company know Martin had died? You have to claim on the policy and Stacey didn't know there was one.

Unless the insurance people saw the ‘ Walford gazette’ or knew Martin personally , they wouldn’t know he had died! It was a complete fabrication of real life. Her finding the insurance documents wouid have made a bit more sense!
