Why do so many of the adult female actors in Wednesday look like a bad waxwork of themselves?

I’m watching the second series and Catherine Zita Jones, Billie Piper and Johanna Lumley all look weird. Even Thandiwe Newton is looking a bit bland. Is it a deliberate make up choice?

I thought it must be cgi. There’s not a wrinkle on any of them. They’ve been blurred somehow.

Aren't they are supposed to look like that . Think it's the aesthetic . Sort of not of this world. If you look at the younger cast members they also look a a bit plastic . Steve Buscemi looks off kilter as well. And don't get me started on Slurp.
