Not the most exciting title.

I suppose Laver Cup and Davis Cup must be happening too soon.

Eurgh. Djok got the second set- it was close though.

Come on Jannick (can't bring myself to watch).

Amanda is in charge of this now. Glad it wasn't a total whitewash.

Well done Amanda.

Meh Djok ended up winning

I chose to ignore the end of that. Jannick was doing so well keeping up, until the final set.

I think Djok plays Munar next. Vamos Jaume!

Andy Murray playing golf Grin - are Sky trying to persuade us tennis fans to watch the Golf channel? I saw him having a nightmare in a bunker a few days ago

Why not just stay at home and put your feet up Andy?

JaneJeffer · 05/10/2025 16:29

I don’t know how anyone can watch golf. It’s so boring! Nothing but football in this house all weekend 🥱

IceandIndigo · 05/10/2025 16:50

Ooh, Jannik-Tallon match is getting unexpectedly dramatic.

IceandIndigo · 05/10/2025 16:51

I would sooner watch paint dry than watch golf.

Nope , I don't get it either.

I mean, I know Rafa loves it. But even if he was playing it topless, I couldn't be persuaded to watch.

Ok, maybe I could be persuaded to watch it for a bit.

At least Dh watches the football on his computer (although yesterday , annoyingly, he watched it without headphones which I thought was Hmm)

Ooh, Jannik-Tallon match is getting unexpectedly dramatic.

I had forgotten this was still on Kind of just expected Jannik to win it- but it really hasn't been like that at all.

Trouble is, we need we need Jannik to stay in, he's got the best chance of beating Djok.

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/10/2025 17:15

Jannik is limping. Oh dear.

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/10/2025 17:15

Is it cramp?

OP posts:
IceandIndigo · 05/10/2025 17:16

Jannik seems to be in trouble with cramp now. He really should have got it done in two sets but Tallon managed a couple of incredible service holds, including one from 0-40. It's about 1am in Shanghai and still horribly hot and humid.

Raahh · 05/10/2025 17:17

This is not good.

He looks in agony

OP posts:
IceandIndigo · 05/10/2025 17:17

I think it is cramp, but he also did something to his knee towards the end of the second set.

IceandIndigo · 05/10/2025 17:18

Tough to watch. It's really similar to what happened to Daniil in Beijing.

Raahh · 05/10/2025 17:19

This is horrible to watch. If he is just trying to get to the changeover, and thinks he can do something to ease it.

But I thought cramp wasn't an MTO thing- it's just lack of conditioning?

OP posts:
IceandIndigo · 05/10/2025 17:21

Jannik Sad

Raahh · 05/10/2025 17:21

No no no. He can't possibly carry on.

Nice of Tallon to come over.

What a sad way to end the match.

So many retirements. Sad. The weather has been awful.

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/10/2025 17:22
Sad I really don't like seeing this. It's like when Grigor hobbled off at Wimbledon.
OP posts:
IceandIndigo · 05/10/2025 17:24

I hope it's just cramp and not an injury, he looks in a lot of discomfort. Credit to Tallon, he fought really hard to stay in the second set, when many other players would have folded.

Djok better not win the tournament now.

Raahh · 05/10/2025 17:31

Ice I really hope Djok doesn't win. ABD!!
Why is he not affected by the humidity?

Djok didn't seem to be too convinicing today, and he's lost early in most tournaments this year, bar the slams. So Munar could get the win?

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 05/10/2025 17:49

Sounds awful. Poor Jannik.

What happened to Tomas Machac? I see he retired as well.

Vamos Jaume, now’s your time to shine!

Raahh · 05/10/2025 17:57

I'm not sure why Tomas retired - he's had a number of issues this year. He was losing badly- and it's not great, he was defending a chunck of points.

Apparently Djok was sick during his match.
