Managed to miss Djok - phew - I do sort of forget about him until he randomly turns up at a tournament

I’ve just seen the pictures of Rafa getting an award and having to wear what looks like a lampshade on his head - poor Rafa - one day he will get an award where he doesn’t have to wear a silly hat!

Poor Rafa. My Spanish is not up to much , but I think he was getting an honorary doctorate.

To be honest, silly hats come with the territory for such things.

He must have quite a collection of hats now, assuming he gets to keep them

Amanda beat Coco, fairly comfortably from the scoreline. Also glad to see that Jasmine and Sara are through in the doubles. (I wanted to watch that one, didn't realise it was on so early).
Lore is through in Shanghai- and I am now watching ADF, just starting his match against Arnaldi.

Took him a while to close out that match, but well done ADF.

I swear Learner Tien has been playing every day for the last month

Today, he's facing Moutet.

The Sky main channels aren't bothering with the other women's semi final, preferring the Norrie match, (where he got bagelled in the second set) instead.

The Tien-Moutet match was fantastic! Well done Learner, really impressed by how intelligently he plays.

Tien is going to be a real contender in the coming year I think- he's playing very well. And seems to take it all in his stride.

Meanwhile, Daniil looks soaked to the skin in his match. He really needs a decent run this week (without any aggro).

The Pegula /Noskova match is very topsy turvy. Looks like Jess could bagel the second set.

Well done Daniil- nice chat at the net. The young Czech player has been doing quite well recently.

This Noskova/Pegula semi final has gone from 2 lobsided sets to a tight 3rd set- and I've lost track of the match points lost now.

Well done Linda. That was a tough final set.

Mo and Zizou are having a good laugh. Mo seems quite thrilled for Bergs.

Tight first set so far in the in the doubles. This might be the game Sara and Jasmine get the break though- whiich could be the set.
Or maybe not. Staying with serve.

oof- this tie break is not going well. Come on Jasmine and Sara!They missed a couple of chances to take the set prior to the tie break.

And the last tie break was a rubbish for Sara and Jasmine.

Good match from Stollar and Kato, they've had a great tournament as a scratch pairing.

I hope Linda can make a match of this- she has done well to get to this final. She seems very nervous though.

Bit of a turnaround at the start of the second set here. At least Linda didn't get discouraged by the previous scoreline.
