Yes, episode 13 is on the BBC

Iplayer

Cheese55 · 29/09/2025 15:22

It only goes up to episode 12 on catch up

Victoriawould24 · 30/09/2025 21:53

The slow flat fizzle out of this thread compared to similar shows probably says everything about this programme.
I don’t think there will be a second series and like pp I turned off at episode 3 after realising I couldn’t care less about any of them not even enough to rage watch ( a big appeal with MAFS).

Also a bit random but I felt really uncomfortable watching Millie in her tiny outfit that barely contained her boobs.
I think it was the huge breast enlargements on the tiny frame just knocked my stomach a bit.

Meghan really does give off ' mean girls' vibe.

Disclaimer...I am sure she is very nice in real life !

But ...wow ...the undercurrent was strong !

Indeed but there was something weird going on there. I mean just an enormous coinicidence for her and her ex to end up on the same (lets face it, rather obscure) show. If she's actually a nice person she will be horrified at the way it was all edited.

I dont believe for a second that Sam didn't know she was involved in some way. My bet is that he was involved and he told the producers he had a recent ex and they persuaded him AND her to get involved to add to the drama. Basically, I think sending Meghan in to stir the soup was planned from a very early stage.

Cheese55 · 01/10/2025 14:11

Definitely all planned with both of them know, she's confident enough in her own wonderfulness to carry it off

GauntJudy · 01/10/2025 21:25

I've made it to episode 11 and my observations are...

What a shame to see Mae dull her sparkle and waste energy on trying to convince a rather dull man to like her.

Helen should have spent time with the other woman who was interested in her.

Editing was boring. Surely they had deeper conversations during their time stranded, surely there were funny moments trying to survive in a beach. They chose to edit with standard dating programme waffle.

I thought it was completely pointless, but as it went on, it hooked me right in. I've watched the final episode and I'm interested to know what everyone thought...

I would be very surprised if they make a second series is my conclusion.

You're right - there was absolutely no component of trying to survive on the beach at all. It could have be set literally anywhere. I wonder if they came up with the name and tried to fit a concept around it.

I think you're right, but as someone who hasn't watched any of the other similar shows before, I did enjoy it.

Cheese55 · 02/10/2025 11:23

The bloke Mae was with 'admitted' they were intimate throughout the stay there so mixed messages from him

It is a very close copy of married at first site just on a beach instead.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 02/10/2025 11:36

I was sad that it just had the usual drivel conversations about communication…
i wanted to see a version of Alone, with people living off dead crabs and trying to build fires in a wedding dress.
they missed a trick there I think.

That’s awful then isn’t it, poor Mae they def edited her with bunny boiler vibes.

I am also ironing and shall watch the catch up.
apparently this cost 5million and they won’t be doing it again

I know that's would I expected. They didn't seen to have go fishing, let alone capture a Bison using only a penknife. None of this flaring out - they should only have been allowed to leave at the point immediately before one decided to eat the other.

Cheese55 · 02/10/2025 12:04

I wondered at the time why she kept trying to "convince' him to give it a go' but he was being intimate despite saying she looks like his sister or something. I think she dodged a bullet with him, i thought he was v self absorbed

FiloPasty · 02/10/2025 12:04

That was a rubbish cheap tie up show wasn’t it!
I’ve just seen there is an Aussie version, is it worth watching

Cheese55 · 02/10/2025 12:51

Is the Aussie one on BBC?

FiloPasty · 02/10/2025 12:55

Yes started automatically playing after the catch up finale one from the uk

DobbyTheHouseElk · 02/10/2025 13:45

The Aussie one seems to have a different vibe. They certainly seem happier in general.

Yes, it was very half hearted. But, my goodness, now we understand why Mae behaved in the way that she did. Mixed messages from Moray all the way through. Moray is right in that they are both adults but he knew she really liked him - not cool Moray. Not one bit.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 03/10/2025 08:47

No, that was shitty behaviour from Moray.

on programmes like Alone, I love to see the minutiae of life - how do they clean their teeth, what are they making the roof lining with , also the night cameras as people listen to hyenas talking about which bit of them they’re going to eat first…
shame
MAFS on a beach, with oddly irritating Davina randomly popping up in a horrible jumpsuit.

FiloPasty · 03/10/2025 13:22

For the 5M budget too, which I suppose was all the flights to the Philippines, but you could tell Davina had filmed all of her video messages from a script from the first speed dating evening which was odd, she could have changed outfits/put up a fake background.
I love Davina btw

CagneyNYPD1 · 03/10/2025 14:55

I suspect that a lot of the Davina filming using iPads was when she was post brain tumour op. Was only able to fly out for the ending etc.

Big budget, wrong channel.
