It’s a shame they can’t start the second match now.

Well done Jannik - I just saw the end of the match - Atmane has had a good run (I keep thinking they’re calling him Antman!) Apparently he does magic tricks as well as being a big Pokémon fan

It’s annoying that the other men’s semi isn’t starting now - not sure why they started showing a replay of the Alcaraz/Rubkev match when play was stopped for a while - it was good to see Mo leap into action though providing water and demanding ice towels/sausages for someone in the crowd - it was like an episode of casualty!

I’m also wondering what Jane imagines the rest of us look like (I think I’d rather not know!)

Glad that Jannik finally got his cake - he looks like he’s reading the news!

What a strange match between Carlos and Sascha. Baffled why Sascha kept playing when he was clearly ill, but also Carlos was worried about Sascha and almost forgot to win the match. He needs to learn not to be distracted by what’s going on on the other side of the net, even if it’s a friend it was clearly kinder to end the match quickly.

Poor Sascha- so many injuries and retirements these past weeks. Honestly- I'm placing bets on Mo winning the US Open.

Sara and Jasmine lost the semi final of the doubles, but I think that was a bit inevitable, as I'm not sure how Jasmine is physically. Just hope she's ok for the singles.

Ice must be really hard for some players to switch off when playing an injured opponent . It can be very distracting- seems easier for some to switch off from it. I suppose that comes with experience. Can't be nice to see a friend struggling and know you've got to keep playing.

Please tell me Sky are not planning to show the Sonay Kartal match rather than the second Cincy semi final.
Naomi has already made it plain they think the Elena /Iga match is the more important semi- so I wouldn't put anything past them

Worse still, if they take this match off to show the Kartal match, I will be very annoyed.

(I think the scheduled matches assumed this would be over in an hour before Kartal at 7, and then Paolini at 8). But Sky are idiots.

(Kartal is obviously not playing Cincy- she's in Cleveland, that's Sky's ' tv schedule' just to be clear, that they put up at the daily start of play).

I'm confusing myself

Elena started well- but Iga started to do Iga things, and I don't think there is any coming back now. (They showed the stat that when Iga wins the first set in a masters final she is 103-0 - not looking good for Elena's chances ).

Iga is so good, Elena is getting frustrated and going for too much.

I thought, briefly, that Elena might make a match of it- but once Iga pulled back and won the first set, Elena seemed to lose confidence.

And Elena has the controversial coach back on her team.
I feel like there is something not quite right there, what ever she says. I hope she's ok.
