Meredith in Grays I did stop watching couldn’t stand her.

Such an annoying voice. And why did every man she encountered fall madly in love with her?

Funnywonder · 04/08/2025 16:13

I’m watching House on Netflix, having ignored its existence for years. Am on series 8 and absolutely cannot stand the Chi Park character. Not so much the character maybe, but the God awful crimes to acting committed by the actress who plays her. If a spaceship landed and took her away, I don’t think she’d even leave a noticeable gap, unlike so many of the other characters who have been fantastically well portrayed.

CatsLikeBoxes · 04/08/2025 16:14

Charmaine in Virgin River - I am on S2 I think and don't understand why they don't just tell her to stop being so bloody manipulative and attempting to force the guy into a relationship with her.

Bruisername · 04/08/2025 16:14

ThisSharpFox · 04/08/2025 15:51

She was the only one that could speak English - she had to sort shit out because the rest were squeaky or just mute..

Are you telling me you couldn’t understand Sweep?

our new puppy looked a little like Sweep so I introduced the kids to some YouTube clips and I was amazed I still understood him!!

on Pauline in Benidorm - I always thought the programme was taking the piss a lot and the dodgy accents were part of that

manicpixieschemegirl · 04/08/2025 16:16

Aiden and Richard in SATC.

Brida in The Last Kingdom.

Dr Turner and Valerie in Call The Midwife but especially Dr Turner.

Gavin and Stacey in Gavin and Stacey.

Will and Grace in Will & Grace.

DiscoBob · 04/08/2025 16:17

Sideshow Bob ruins every Simpsons episode he features in. Unfunny, cringe character and that fucking Frasier actor?!

The boyfriend character on Too Much seems really really gratingly annoying. I had to stop watching it, for several reasons but he was a big one.

My DD has recently discovered the Big Bang Theory on Disney Plus and has been binging it. The Sheldon character is so annoying, self centred and condescending.

That’s literally the whole point of the show. 😀

CandidHedgehog · 04/08/2025 16:08

Wrong thread?

Probably, but I would have loved to hear that said to any of the male characters in SATC.

XelaM · 04/08/2025 14:33

Definitely Beth in Yellowstone!!!!! She is literally the worst TV character of all time for me! Made it completely unwatchable, especially as everyone seemed to pander to her (except poor Jamie)

agree completely, I managed about 4 episodes before I gave up as she was such an unpleasant spoilt character

ArtTheClownIsNotAMime · 04/08/2025 16:21

Abi in My Family. It was never brilliant but was watchable until she was introduced.

WaneyEdge · 04/08/2025 16:24

Yeah, they tried to make up for Nick leaving but it just didn’t land right.

TerrierCollector · 04/08/2025 16:25

Connor in Angel. I held in there but it was rough.

yes to The Moons too. I know the joke was they all had different accents, but when you’re British yourself, it isn’t funny - it just grates.

The second Kochanski in Red Dwarf, though the writing was pretty awful that series anyway.

Spookyspaghetti · 04/08/2025 16:26

XelaM · 04/08/2025 15:05

Nooo

The series definitely didn't age well, but I loved those characters (except Monica!)

I didn’t like where they went with Ross after ‘we were on a break.’ They turned him into a right winy man baby. At the time I thought Matthew Perry was the funniest but looking back David Schwimmer was actually the most talented. (out of the guys anyway)

MyUmberSeal · 04/08/2025 16:26

Saffy from Ab Fab. Hated her character the first time round and having just rewatched Ab Fab, dislike her even more. Love it when Patsy and Eddie chuck insults at her. She deserves it 🤣.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/08/2025 16:28

Mr fucking Tumble.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 04/08/2025 16:30

Ben in Buffy. In fact the whole Ben story arc.

ClaudiaWrinklemum · 04/08/2025 16:31

Mr Bates in Downton Abbey. I would love to rewatch it but I can’t because he gives me the absolute ick. Creepy AF.

ginasevern · 04/08/2025 16:31

I'm ancient so I doubt anyone will know what I'm talking about, but I was pretty pissed off when Sue joined Sooty and Sweep. She got right on my nerves.

wizzywig · 04/08/2025 16:31

MrsEmmelinePankhurst · 04/08/2025 16:07

Completely agree. He makes my flesh crawl AND he’s a rubbish actor.
He’s also in Queer As Folk, Peaky Blinders and Kin….

He's that tall lump with long hair isn't he?

TerrierCollector · 04/08/2025 16:33

Ben is Glory?

suburburban · 04/08/2025 16:33

CraftandGlamour · 04/08/2025 16:07

I was about to write the same.

Definitely

and Pauline in Benidorm does have a peculiar accent

Ross was my Friends-obsessed friend's favourite character 😅"You ate my sandwich?!?!"

Yes, I don’t know how old you are but she was still getting on kids’ tits well into the 2000s. Bossy cow!

BoomBoom70 · 04/08/2025 16:34

Jenny in Gossip Girl. Cringe 😬

AliceMcK · 04/08/2025 16:34

Yes to Meredith Grey, also anything with Olivia Coleman in it, I don’t care how good the show or movie is supposed to be I can’t stand her, she’s completely over rated and has zero acting skills so I will turn off anything she’s in. The same with Huge Grant he’s just the same in everything.

Geoff Campbell in Home and Away back in the 2000 his pious judgmental shit use to bring out a rage in me.
