I have some pressing questions about the Apprentice

First of all what timescale is it filmed on? The candidates go on constantly about it being relentless and of how shattered they are. Does this mean rather than being filmed over a period of weeks, there are only days in between each task? If they do have a week then what do they do in that week?

Also what does Frances write in that pad and is this where she always works? Is she really Alan Sugars PA or is she just there for the show as a bit of eye candy? Also if she really is his PA what time does she start work as she is always the one who makes the early morning call, even when the call is at 5.30am.

Does anyone have any answers lol?

My dp says they do the taxi walk first in case anyone gets sour grapes and refuses to do it after been fired.

Someone also said they are actually in the boardroom for about 3 hours too.

What makes me LOL is when Sir Alan comes in and his chair is so obviously raised to make him taller then everyone else.

The apprentice rocks anyway stop ruining it .

Not to do with the thread but I love your name!
I have recently been re-reading all my Judy Blume's and that's one of the ones I don't have

TsarChasm · 28/05/2008 15:37

Dh noticed last night that when they got the early am call Claire answered it wearing a dress and pearls.

Then the next shot of her was in a bathrobe and pjs.

GreenElizabeth · 28/05/2008 15:41

ARe you there God it's me Margaret was an excellent book, I will get a copy for my daughter when she's about 11 I think.

Frances is not even always the same woman?!?!! Really ? I had not noticed.

muggglewump · 28/05/2008 15:44

Summer Sisters is my all time favourite book. I had no idea she wrote for adults until I came across it in a second hand shop in Bali.

Anyway, I'm gutted it's not real, I want to pretend, I love the Apprentice, so much so I even want to believe S'ralan is tall

areyouthereMNtismeMargaret · 28/05/2008 15:46

Thanks Mugglewump ,I used to love her books too just reread blubber .

Are you there God was one of my favourites .

UnquietDad · 28/05/2008 15:46

Well, not quite - the Franceses (Francei?) changed between series.

hatwoman · 28/05/2008 15:48

I have never been able to watch it in quite the same way since somone on mn said that her and her dh think that Sralan looks like he's coming out of the loo when he comes through that door behind his and sidekick's long desk. you can hear the toilet flush...

brimfull · 28/05/2008 15:52

I think we need a program

"The Making of the Apprentice"

HAs anyone who lives in London ever seen them doing a task?

UnquietDad · 28/05/2008 15:53

We need "Apprentice Confidential"! On BBC3!

GreenElizabeth · 28/05/2008 16:16

Summer sisters, oh yeah! I bought that when I was on Nantucket. I didn't know it was sold over here, I had not seen it.

brimfull · 28/05/2008 17:10

unquietdad-I thought you were serious, have just searched on bbc iplayer

was quite excited

DarrellRivers · 28/05/2008 17:16

OK, slight deviation from the apprentice , to the judy blume fans
when they talk about some girl making out behind the A+P, (in areyouthergodit'sme margaret)
what the hell is the A+P?
Puzzled me throught teenage years, still puzzles me now

GreenElizabeth · 28/05/2008 17:28

I don't remember that bit. But I do remember thinking "who would go to the shop for a quarter of a pint of milk. I later realised Americans sell milk by the quarter gallon!!

UnquietDad · 28/05/2008 17:28

Sorry ggirl!
There is an extra prog on Monday about the "Final 5" though.

Notalone · 28/05/2008 17:35

Notalone · 28/05/2008 17:41

PS - I love the Apprentice too. I am a bit gutted so much of it isn't true.

UnquietDad · 28/05/2008 17:42

I think it;s "essentially" true in that there is a genuine contest and the genuine winning team wins, and there is a firing each week... but it has ro be edited like any TV show.

Raahh · 28/05/2008 17:48

Darrell- the A and P are supermarkets , i think.

DarrellRivers · 28/05/2008 17:51

Thank you Raah, Am off to google it
Notalone, was that from 'forever'

PortAndLemon · 28/05/2008 17:52

A&P

DarrellRivers · 28/05/2008 17:52

et voila

VictorianSqualor · 28/05/2008 17:55

I'm gutted.
I can handle the tasks having ready-made props, Obviously, the morning call isn't impromptu, but a set? and real taxi walks?

DRESSMEUP · 28/05/2008 17:57

i saw jonathan ross the other week with sir alan sugar. he admitted that francis is an actress. he said originally francis was real, then she left, so they replaced her with an actress, but decided to keep her as francis.

brimfull · 28/05/2008 17:59

darrel-A&P is supermarket,my mum shops there,my first boyfriend and I used to meet behind it hahaha!
