As I say, this is the countdown to the end, now we're in the last week of the series. I think it finishes on 4th Aug... Just over a week away.

No clear winner(s) at the moment really, quite a few unlikeable contestants, and lots of arguments and discord! I'm almost looking forward to this series ending to be honest! 😆

I'm not sure I agree with your take on her, but even if I did, I don't get which bit of your view of her is so bad? What's the 'clever game' she's playing and what is the nature of the 'full on charm offensive'? Do you mean you think she doesn't like Harry, is pretending, always has been and picked him to fake feelings for over Ty/Connor/Ben etc because... ? I don't know how that makes sense at all. If she was playing a clever game, there's way smarter options than going for Harry - early on and even more so now. How does the charm offensive figure in the plan? As opposed to her cheering up as it's the last week and she's with the guy she was attracted to, even if she doesn't think he's a good guy objectively?

I'm not arguing, just trying to understand your logic. Personally, while I think she's smart and got some toughness about her for sure, I don't think it's all some calculated game on her part. It just doesn't track with any viable smart strategy.

In terms of one liners I do think , god love her , Helena has some good ones ! Last night had me in stitches . On Harry … “ what’s he got apart from x and a questionable mullet “! 😂
Has anyone seen 1st look … what I always find weird are people who have been there a few weeks and acting like it’s long lost reunion! More like 2 weeks AI !

I suspect Yasmin is very normal and quite boring irl and is fully aware of this. She knew she had to lay it on thick to have a chance of staying in there. I'm not sure if she over-egged it or if she acted as bizarre as possible to gain interest, but either way it worked.

She either ran out of steam or worked out that most of the girls in there aren't particularly likeable, so it would be safe to revert back to her normal self.

Enough of Bloody Harry, Shakira, Helena . I want to see how some of the other couples are getting on.

Shakira isn’t a naive teenager, she’s a grown woman at 22

I'm not sure if you're either still quite young yourself or older and have forgotten what it's like to be in your early 20's, but I very much doubt many women are mentally grown at the grand old age of 22.

Myself, I had a 2 year old by then and I was still a bit of a twat. Shakira does seem to be quite mature for her age but at 22 she simply can't have enough life experience to be much more advanced than a teenager.

The things people come up with to justify their dislike of a contestant!

I agreed with the post where this was mentioned, didn't notice the diva comment and agree she is not a diva.

I think the criticism of Shakira online is generally quite thoughtful and balanced. The hate online for Meg is on another level, and she has definitely been no worse than Shakira in terms of her actual behaviour.

I’ve just tried to look back and make sense on why there is such a divide between people who love Shakira and those who love Harry.
Toni stole Ben off Shakira and then Shakira had a day to graft before stealing Harry off a lady who left after one day.
Shakira then went to the hideaway with Blu and kissed him.
it was only at this point, on day 3/4 that Helena and Harry went to the hideaway.
im sorry but so early in the show, no one is in the wrong as there are no established couples! That’s the whole point of love island!
plus, Shakira kissed Blu FIRST.
it baffles me how much hate the girls are getting when Harry isn’t getting as much.
Helena and Harry have been together for weeks, sharing a bed, multiple re couplings, so having to watch Shakira and Harry as this point isn’t “karma” or ‘payback’ as Helena invested a lot more into this after weeks of persuing only him.
shakira was with Harry a couple of days, kissed someone else then was with Ben, Connor, Ty…
I worry about the level of hate some people have for these poor girls, especially Helena.

I know a less than positive opinion of Shakira isn’t popular on here, but it’s my view based on everything I’ve seen of her over the weeks, and although I’m not saying she’s an awful person I’m saying she’s clever, knows how to get what she wants and how to get people on her side, using a variety of tactics. She’s been very successful.

Of course I don’t dislike her - this is my impression of what I’ve seen of her on this show, that’s all.

Well the Blu kiss (as well as instantly putting her off Blu) falls under the same "no one is in the wrong" rules are the hideaway situation according to your own early days rule here, but wasn't there a later instance of Helena coming between Harry and Shakira again that doesn't come under those rules? Plus her muscling in on Ty and other situations just for the hell of it with no apparent agenda other than to get what Shakira had? We can go over it from all angles, but people like who they like and see what they wanna see on that basis I guess.

But what interest me most from your post is this: a lady who left after one day. What lady was that?? My memory's gone blank!

I've struggled to keep up the last few days but I've lost interest in the divide between the 2 girl camps if I'm honest. This was amplified further by the editing of the grafties, which was negatively biased against Toni and Shakira. This led to the compilation of various clips of the other girls circling on social media as a response to highlight the negativity on both sides.

A lot of pro posts on here in relation to Shakira have been prompted when some negative statements have been made that haven't made sense to others. Naturally some are inclined to offer a different opinion that 'defends' Shakira and/ or ask further details as to why someone has come to a particular conclusion. I find myself often agreeing with the posts that have been pro Shakira based on my viewing. However, as others have said, people can view things differently and that's what adds to the enjoyment. I don't have any problem with those who have a different opinion, each to their own!

I’d bet she wouldn’t be interested in Harry or men like him in her thirties so I agree she’s probably still got some growing to do.

Sophie Lee left after one day. She was a burns survivor.

Shakira was partnered with Ben and Toni came in and chose Ben.

Shakeria then had to ‘graft’ the boys in order to avoid being dumped. Leading Meg and Helena from this point forward saying she ‘got what she deserved’ for ever more after being forced by production to flirt with everyone’s partners on day one.

Sophie Lee was partnered with Harry and when Shakeria chose a man to steal she was dumped from the Island.

Why does this all seem several years ago now ?

Omg it really does feel like aeons ago! I remember her now - seemed like she was there to peddle her motivational wares and could've been subtler. Reminds me of the chick who went straight out on The Traitors after announcing she was a 'Doctor of Communications' and positioned herself behind a tome in the library. Too clever - or the wrong type of clever - for reality tv!

On another note I would agree that Toni and Shakira have said some nasty things about #Team Meg.

However what triggers many about Meg and Helena is a certain type/ group from our school days.

Side eyes, raised eyebrows, laughing and whispering. Never saying anything outright

The whole vibe that if you dare to sit on their lunch table without being accepted into their clique they’d pull a face and suddenly all need to leave.

At least Shakeria and Toni would just tell you to f off to your face.

Helena mainly / only talked about sex with Harry when she was trying to get him in the first place. Helena is very much a grown woman at the age of 29...

Helena only spoke to Ty, nothing happened! And he was by far the best looking guy at Casa and she backed off when he kissed Shakira!

Agree with this! Whenever Shakira is confronted she holds her hands up “yes I meant it to be unkind I was pissed off”/“yes we’d just had an argument” etc.

Whereas Meg has the privilege of only one of her many comments being shown, so she plays the whole “I never say anything”/“I’m kind to everyone” card. It’s kind of gaslighty actually because even Shakira said that all the bombshells have told them the same thing - Meg is trying to convince them that their perception of her is false and all in their heads. It isn’t.

Even last night, they all made up, and straight after Meg starts having a moan about them. That’s why Megan said “less of that” - she knows that this behaviour of Meg’s is being scrutinised on the outside and that she comes across badly.

Meg is no worse than the others IMO in terms of bitchiness but she doesn’t take any accountability for it. That’s what is frustrating for some viewers.

Just catching up on Aftersun - got the sense from the pundit panel that they’d been briefed not to slag off Meg and Dejon. The guy on the panel (never known his name) went super awks when asked his view, almost saying that he wasn’t meant to say, then garbled something mild but critical in subtext. Faye got a big round of applause when she mentioned the imbalance in the grafties favouring Meg, but she’s allowed to go more off piste. There’s definitely a briefing been given.

Shakira has been the biggest critic of Helena falling for Harry’s BS, and people on here were saying how dumb Helena was, but how more switched on Shakira was. But this now proves that maybe Shakira wasn't switched on at all, but was just the same as Helena. How two girls can be so dumb as to fight over this prince amongst men is just bonkers. He hasn’t even hid who he is - he’s been showing them who he is every day. I think the only people who could win now are Meg and Dijon.

But tbh, Movie Night was absolutely 100% focussing negatively on Meg and Dijon. Maybe they felt it was someone else’s turn on the Grafties to take some flack.

But they really don’t. Lots of whispering on corners by both Shakira and Toni. The only time they own it is when they’re caught out. Poor Emily was badly bullied by Toni.

The only negative thing I remember of Meg from movie night was her saying “walk off on your catwalk”. Am I misremembering?
