As I say, this is the countdown to the end, now we're in the last week of the series. I think it finishes on 4th Aug... Just over a week away.

No clear winner(s) at the moment really, quite a few unlikeable contestants, and lots of arguments and discord! I'm almost looking forward to this series ending to be honest! 😆

Does anyone remember Lochan (up there with Ovie for me btw) and his lovely parents? It’s always nice seeing the equally nice people behind the most lovely contestants.

She seemed upset that he’d been isolated and in tears without any support.

She'll be relieved to see he's far from isolated now then. He's got Shakira back. Helena still there for cuddles and back scratches. Mustard still fine to his face and Toni and co seem to have accepted him for Shakira's sake. In the words of Conor... "How does he do it?".

I really hope Helena’s loved ones aren’t like her downplaying Harry’s behaviour tonight. Hopefully/surely they’ll go in and tell her she’s so much better off now she’s no longer with him. I’m not convinced she wouldn’t go there ever again if the offer was there.

yeah and he got a good hug from Helena (again) yesterday and I clocked he even managed to touch her bum a couple of times

When Harry's mum was on Aftersun near the beginning of the series she said she didn't recognise him and had never seen him act that way before and "disowned" him. She also said he deserved to be upset.

Really? Yet in there she said several times how the best thing was was that he'd been himself throughout! I thought bloody hell, if that's true, lie woman, lie 😂

Just to add, as I think a pp mentioned her seeming to prefer Helena - I thought this too. She mentioned how they were always laughing etc. I reckon she sees the age gap as an issue, as it makes his behaviour seem even worse.

I'm wondering whether the parents will come in in the same way for the other contestants? Surely not for Megan and Blu who probably saw them less than a week ago?

I think Harry and Helena make more sense as a pairing. Helena doesn’t take much very seriously, which I think would be a key trait to survive a relationship with Harry.

Shakira doesn’t have much of a sense of humour at all, other than girly giggling with Toni about the other islanders. I don’t think she would be able to take anything with a pinch of salt. She reminds me of a sulky teenager half the time.

Yes, I think in a lot of ways Helena would suit Harry better. I wonder if Harry is thinking the optics look better with Shakira though.

Helena isn't a better match for Harry clearly - or he would have taken her more seriously. I don't necessarily see the spark between him and Shakira but they and most of the other contestants seem to.

Also Shakira is likely not boring, she's just usually moping around in the clips we see.

Well I don’t think Harry knows what’s good for him! Harry just wants the thing he doesn’t have. He can’t help himself.

Is Harry all talk (to impress “his boys”)?

I do think there is probably some degree of neurodiversity to Harry. And I agree that the root of his behaviour is due to being a people pleaser. He wants to be all things to all people. He mirrors whoever he is with at the time. So he is the lad talking about the girls lapping it up when talking to the boys. He is talking about sex and what he’s going to do to Helena because that’s what she always wants to talk about. And he is the most emotionally grounded when with Shakira because that’s what she brings out of him.

Shakira has scuppered her chance of winning with Harry she should have stayed with Connor

Helena's parents will be interesting to see, if they come.
Remember she is nearly 30? And says shes never had a proper relationship?
Let's see if its down to her relationship with her family.

She would've if she was arsed about winning, but then that would be the fake and gameplaying move. She'd rather be with the guy she fancies not the friend she tried and failed to fancy. The heart wants what it wants, and likewise it might 'make sense' for Harry to be with Helena but he tried with her on that basis but looked quite bored and like he was going through the motions with her. Not that him and Shakira are some great love story, far from it, but they'd rather be with each other at this point so winning the game is neither here nor there. And this thread would be the first place to crucify Shakira for a cynical winning move.

It's Jamie and Yas to win for me for sure now. I would hate to see Harry got the 25K after being a little cockroach, flirting with numerous girls, telling plenty of lies and encouraging Harrison's behaviour.

4. Angel and Ty: I'm meh about these, don't particularly like or dislike but Ty seems like a genuine guy
5. Toni and Cach: Toni is not genuine, I dont like how she encouraged Shakirah to go back with Harry after finding out he's in the bottom 3 favourite islanders. Used and abused Cach and is now using him again.
6. Helena and Blu: I feel sorry for Helena and it would bring me great joy to see Meg's face if they survived longer than her
7. Meg and "D": hate them, get them off the screen.

The way Helena is acting at the moment I think she could try and persuade Harry to go back with her again. She didn’t expect Shakira to get back with him and she can’t cope.

Helena never previously having a boyfriend age 30 and Shakira being 22 is the reason they’ve both fallen for Harry’s bullshit.

Get real They are all faking it not one genuine couple in there !

On aftersun, Billykiss said Angel and Ty were the most genuine so I'm keeping an eye on these two and will probably vote for them.
