I’ve ignored LI this year as everyone seemed so unappealing, but the last few posts on this thread prompted me to go on the YouTube channel and this clip was brilliant - Shahira and Harry (and Toni) all seem adorable!

I don’t know why they’re doing this. It feels unfair and disappointing. Meg and Helena just get off so lightly again and again when they’ve been really bitchy and unkind.

Shakira needs to say her mental health is suffering so the producers buck up a bit.

Most of the contestants this year - Meg, Helena etc are quite obviously in it to get some reality tv work, promotional work after its over. That said, I don't care about the 'love aspect' of it or how genuine contestants are. Its very much a reality tv game and every contestant is aware of that.

I like watching Shakira and Toni and to a lesser extent Cach. They make it worth watching precisely because seem less 'The Only Way is Essex' like.

The producers have always manipulated the public with editing it a certain way . They way they are feeding Shakira to the others is very off and I don't like it. Maybe they felt she is stronger mentally and can take it but sadly I don't believe they care about individual contestant's one bit. They are pawns and as long as people keep watching it, they will be tossed around to keep viewing figures up.

The bunch of people they put in this year aren't nice people - Irish Megan, Harry, Harrison, Helena, Meg. None of these people come across well. Will they do family visits this year (or am I thinking of the wrong show?). I don't know what benefit the family visits will be because it will just be like telling like that they are oh so proud of them and how they are being perceived by the public. I'm sure before they leave, the producers will play their softer sides to make their exit more public friendly.

The pile on of Shakira is really concerning. They ought to have learnt their lesson about this sort of thing but they seem determined to paint her in a bad light.

I don’t know if they will do the families as other than Meg and Dijon pretending to have a relationship no one is in a relationship. They haven’t done the babies after - presumably because Meg would jealous of Dijon giving the baby any attention at all.

As apparently the Grafties are giving the villain edit ye again to Shakira and Toni, and if the rumours are true that Helena blows up at Harry, looks like a whole lot of nastiness will be directed Shakira's way.

Shakira is smart enough to realise the most unpopular boy Harry getting friendly with her, the most popular girl, is for the public vote surely. TG for Toni who will see thtough it quickly enough.

And meanwhile Dijon will worry that together Harry and Shakira will pip him and Meg to the post. Why are Dijon and Meg still in it. Who is voting for them. Emma was far more interesting to watch.

The show only show a tiny proportion of what is filmed, yet you are assuming they are a fair reflection of what contestants are really like. Maybe the clips are more representative of Shakira demeanor than the shoes. We will never know!
Also the whole girl spit only came about because of Shakira and Toni bullying Emily.

The point is the producers should show negative clips of everyone, not point at one or two people., which is what they tend to do.

I really believe there are —stupid— viewers who do not realise the extent of how it’s being edited and manipulated so highlighting one or two is having a massive effect on voting.

I saw a TikTok video of someone saying they think the producers are purposely giving Shakira a rough ride because they know it will make people confused and angry, which will get people talking about it more, which will get more people watching it. Apparently the viewing figures have been declining for years.

I don’t understand the magic spell Harry has.
Helena seems to be getting disproportionate hate for pursuing Harry, when she hadn’t formed a bond with anyone else. Surely it was on Harry to let Shakira know he liked Helena, not Helena to let her know? Harry was stringing two girls alone, Helena and Shakira were innocent in this.
Also, Shakira making all these sly digs to Helena about how she wouldn’t put up with X,Y,Z from him yet seems to be wanting him back herself?
Just like strange Emma who went in all guns blazing calling Harry and Helena snakes, saying he was disgusting, she hates him then the next minute she is asking him to sniff her armpits, telling Helena they were getting back together.
Emma and Shakira had a lot to say about Helena being a mug but both appear to still hold a torch for Harry themselves!

As pretty much everyone else has told you, we see different things. The incidents with Emily came after Helena’s relentless pursuit of Harry and the bikini episodes.

As other have said we can disagree, that’s fine. We are watching the same show but seeing different things.

i just think Helena believes that the way to snare a man is up go all out and be overtly sexual which she did , no other real chat and Harry lapped it up… it was only after Shakira binned him off did her go to her … Think Helena thinks she’s won some sort of contest which she clearly hadn’t … I just find her a bit snakey

I don't get this argument at all. Whilst it's true only see part of the day, we can assume that the bits they don't show are are where nothing's happening. As viewers, even the most die-hard mean girl fans enablers Meg and Helena fans admit they do their fair share of bitching, and that's ignoring that fact that they're usually the instigators and Shakira etc are usually shown reacting to their shitty behaviour.
As viewers, they're not showing us new clips at Movie Night or the Grafties. They're showing old clips. So yes, we can clearly see when they're showing 10% of an islander's catty moments, and 90% of another's (and out of context). And that's not right or fair, is it?

Emma was put in there to stir things which she did. She lit a match and stood back to see if she had started fires. I found her entertaining but it quickly became apparent that the others clicked what she was about and didn’t react the way the producers imagined so conveniently she was ‘voted’ out….

It was crap wasn't it? It was all geared up to make Toni and Shakira look like awful mean bitches and there was nothing of Meg and only one clip of Helena (that I recall) when she was talking to D but that one was one of her tame ones.

It is perfectly clear that LI want to take Toni and Shakira down and don't want either of them to win.

They do this EVERY year, they have favourite couples that they protect at all costs.

I can’t believe Dijon’s face on First Look when Harry is upset about Shakira. It was Dijon and Mug who talked Harry into being with Helena in the first place. You can see Dijon trying to work out what might be in this for him. He really is awful.

I think Helena is one of the worse female contestants ever. She’s swimming in the same waters as Ekin-who?

I know it’s a programme and supposed to spark opinions but the level of vitriol and hate for these contestants over a heavily scripted tv show is really quite alarming.
Yes you can dislike someone and not approve of the heavily edited and scripted actions but some of the comments on here are disturbing…

I get the impression they think Helena and Meg have portrayed themselves to the public as being quite desperate and mugs. Maybe they think they don’t need further embellishment of this through editing. Maybe they don’t want Shakira to win it in a friendship couple as it’s not really in the spirit of the game but, having said that, they did some shitty editing of her ages ago.

You could literally see the cogs turning, “mmm will this mean I’ll win!”
