The US Open is so close, it seemed daft to push himself if he knew couldn't really play. I would imagine the slams are a priority- especially a home one.

Bad day for Taylor Fritz- who lost to Altmane- that won't do his confidence much good going into the US Open.
Karen retired in his match- not sure what his injury is, hope he's ok. Apparently first time in over 700 matches he's ever retired in a match.

Jasmine plays Barbora later- which I am torn over. I would like both to win but Barbora needs the points.
Both are still in the doubles and playing later too. (Sara and Jasmine have possibly the trickier match).

Holger is playing Terence Altmane- who is on a roll, and might fancy his chances a bit. But I hope Holger wins .

I had barely heard of Atmane before this week, but he's had a great run. The draw is looking a bit lopsided now that Taylor is out. Carlos, Sasha and Ben are all in one half and Jannik is the only top 5 seed in the other half. They might as well just give him the trophy now.
