I do feel sorry for Jasmine and Sara though- shame they had to meet so early on.

Not a good night for the RuRu contingent- Holger lost to Popyrin- Alex obviously likes Canada- he's defending his title.

Another good win for Victoria Mboko- beating Coco Gauff very comfortably in straight sets.

What happened to poor Cerundelo?

It seemed to be an abdominal problem @StartupRepairSascha was lovely to him when he had to retire. Earlier Sascha was being driven crazy by the shot clock and Fergus told him he was doing great

I ended up watching really late after falling asleep on the sofa for hours earlier. Had a bit of a hectic week* *because I suddenly got a huge floater in my eye which needed checking out which meant a couple of long journeys to the hospital. Anyway I’m stuck with it now because it’s something that can happen to short sighted people over 50 and apparently the brain will eventually adjust. Ugh.

I continue to be a jinx on Holger because he was doing great until I started watching him. Sorry Holger.

That sounds rubbish, Jane. I have a floater that appeared about 10 years or so again- I used to think it was a mark on my glasses . It's not too big, fortunately, just an odd shape.

Poor Cerundolo. Not a good time to be getting injured- he's had such a good few months.

I’ve not really seen much of the tennis - it’s on at a bit of an inconvenient time for me - Canada needs to rethink it’s time zone

I know I say it every time but I still don’t really understand these ‘2 week’ tournaments - they just seem to start and finish at odd times in the week and I’m sure could take place over a week and then maybe tennis players could have a bit of a break between tournaments?

Alex looked like he was going to win this match fairly easily, but Big Foe has come back in the second. I can't decide if I ;ole Big Foe's shorts. I think I like the colour.

AdM has won- I'm not his biggest fan, find him a bit boring, but I've warmed to him since he was so nice to ADF.

And a win for Joe and Neal in the doubles- that willgive Joe a boost.

ADF is playing Rublev, so a bit torn on this one - don't really mind who wins- but I do like the run of form ADF is on.

Hoping ADF takes this one… and that Andrey stays calm. Saw a bit of the earlier match and it seemed like no one wanted to win.

Real shame that ADF had to retire from his match- he's had a busy few
weeks.

Looking at the results from other matches, there were some very close ones . The scorelines look like maths problems- so many tie breaks
